I'm a US Soldier stationed in Germany. I bought my XBOX 360 on base, it was set to English with US settings. We don't always have access to buy American spec games, so I frequently use the Live Marketplace. Sometimes I am allowed to purchase games. Earlier
in the week I purchased FIFA World Cup 14 with no issue. Today, I tried to purchase the regular FIFA 14 game. I received an error code, which I read was common for a regional conflict between where you account is configured to, and where it actually is.

So, being the genius that I am, I followed the instructions to migrate my account to a new region (Germany.) So, that was all fine and dandy until I logged back into XBOX Live to find that a great portion of everything is in German, (even though the System
settings are still set to English), and far more annoyingly, the prices of all the games increased AND converted to Euro.

The warning said you could only migrate regions every three months, which, y'know, sucks...

    Suggestions?

    :)

    Hello,

    I am living in Belgium.

When I choose English as my language in the settings, I can't choose Belgium as country. If I choose something else than belgium, I can't buy digital content be cause i m living in Belgium and my regional settings says otherwise.

This is really Frustrating. I want to stay in Belgium, I want to play my games in English and I want to buy digital content using my paypal account.

As a nice to have option I would also like to access my Xbox live account in English.

How can I do that ?

Well unfortunately there is no option on that right now. The only solution is to switch between the languages and the countries at the moment. So you may change to Belgium for puirchasing content and then switch back to UK for playing.

But as this is an often requested option you may want to vote for this option to be included in upcoming dashboard updates right here:

If you want to use the xbox.com website in english you can just change the region of the page itself without affeting your account at all.

you have to follow their rules and yes they have their own CONTENT laws under USK

anything to do with xbox live has to follow the region of your account regardless of your console setting

as per the international laws on content every service must abide by international laws

what is allowed in US isn't nessarily allowed unmodified in Germany or any other place

as the migration tool is not for temporary moves its suggested you make a temporary account for local purchases

but as long as you do not live in the region of your account you will continue have issues with downloads and yes that's enforced by content laws

USK is the governing body of Germany and they have the most strict of rules and one of the highest list of banned and controlled games
