Regional error error

Here are the questions I would like to ask -

1. How does one determine the region of their Xbox 360 console? I know of the locale that can be determined through settings, but I've tried changing that and it doesn't make a difference.

2. How do you determine the region of a game disc? Is it the part that says where it's made? Or-?

So is the Xbox's region determined by the location you bought it in, or by the location your Xbox 360 is? Because I'm having a regional error but I have no idea what region my console is in.

This is what's going on - My family and I just moved across the world. I grew up in Hong Kong, and we've moved to Toronto a few months earlier. My Xbox 360 was bought in Hong Kong, needless to say, and it moved to Toronto with us. I also have all of my discs
bought in Hong Kong (and two bought in Canada from a summer trip a few years earlier) moved along the console.

I know that there is a region restriction and that the games bought in Hong Kong were supposed to only work in a Hong Kong console. So the funny thing is, all my game discs work. All of them except a Just Dance 2016 disc that had been bought in Hong Kong,
and the 2017 Just Dance disc I've recently bought in Canada. Oddly enough, both discs from two regions are region locked. Now I'm just really confused. Canada and Hong Kong are in different regions, so that means no matter if my console region remains in Hong
Kong, or has changed to Canada. one of them should still work. However, neither of them works.

It's not the disc's problem. I know this because I went back to Costco and exchanged the disc for another new one. Still doesn't work.

So what is my console region, really? How can I determine?

Or should I ask - what's the problem?

Credentials error

credentials? isnt that like your accont info?

Try to go on xbox.com and sign into it and see if u have any messages. might just need to verify an email or something

 

Blu Ray & DVD App Problems

Having problems with playing DVD with this app I downloaded.

It keeps saying Region 2 discs not compatible with a Region 1 console.

Console was bought from Amazon UK, tried several other DVD but getting the same error.

Anyone else had problems with this?

Regional lockouts in video games have been achieved by several methods, such as hardware/software authentication, slot pin-out change, differences in cartridge cases, IP blocking and online software patching. Most console video games have region encoding.

The main regions are:

Japan and Asia (NTSC-J) This is where Hong Kong is located

North America and South America (NTSC-U)

Europe, New Zealand and Australia (PAL region)

China (NTSC-C)

The original Xbox as well as the Xbox 360 were region-locked, although it was up to the publisher if a game is region-free or not. A number of games are region-free and will play on a unit from any region. Digital content through Xbox Live are also region-locked,
such as DLC, movies, and apps.

Bottom line you need to get games according to your xbox 360 console region
