Regional Codes From PAL to NTSC?

Hi, I've recently moved from england to canada with my PAL region xbox. I already know the fact that I can't play physical copies of games anymore and have to resort to digital gaming, However i'm unsure about buying redeemable game codes. For example i've
migrated my account to canadian and changed the locale on my xbox to canada, however i'm not sure if I still need European codes to work due to were I originally got my xbox or use North American codes because of my new location.

I apologize if I sound stupid, i'm just confused on the matter.

Region Free

If a BD has no region coding then what is there to prevent it from playing?

Xbox Region Free?

Hi guys
Sorry if this theme is to common here but i need to be sure.
I live in Germany in the Region Code here is PAL and i want to buy DB Xenoverse 2 for my Xbox one
but the Seller is in the United Kindom and got also the PAL Code. Would it possible to run i on my Xbox?

it depends on the game

most disk games will be region free the way to tell is to goto play-asia.com and look it up based on your game

now digital downloads it depends on the game but there are a few that require inregion systems

SInce you migrated your account you will need to use codes that match your account region, so in your situation you will need to use Canadian codes.

Regarding the digital version of the games, as far as I know, only the Disc versions will have a dvd region lock on it that has to match the consoles dvd region, which could mean that the digital versions might work.

its not likely due to compatibility issues

PC games aren't limited to pal/ntsc but CONSOLES are

licenses and distibution is limited by laws and regions

ntsc/pal content isn't compatible with each other

ntsc belongs in ntsc regions discs and pal content will only work with pal disks and are only avaible in the respected regions

also ALL prepaid DLC codes from gamestop do come with a warning

this content is region locked and will only work in the region you purchased in (this does come with the blackops mappack codes)

It's very possible that the 2 discs not working are not actually PAL but NTSC format, which could be possible for used games. I don't think the format is actually listed on the discs or box and the only way to know what region a disc is from is to simply
test it on a device coded for the region you are trying to test. If you purchased that Xbox 360 new from a PAL region, and can confirm it is PAL if it works with other PAL coded discs, then the two discs not working are NTSC. There is really nothing to troubleshoot
if other games work fine but these two don't, it's just that they are not PAL and could've been originally purchased from a NTSC coded region.

yes darksouls is PAL and NTSC specific so downloading a NTSC content from the US wont work on a PAL console (found on the back of your console)

there is no alternative

pal/ntsc content is based on the region of the account since PAL isn't needed in NTSC regions

also, dont get NTSC/PAL and region free confused. NTSC/PAL is the video signal/resolution, Region codes keep media on a certain continent/country.

You would need to buy the game on disc that has the correct region code for your console. (NTSC for NTSC or PAL for PAL).
