Region settings restrictions

Hi, I bought a X360 in NZ and put it on the US store as I will go back there soon.

When I try to redeem the current game with gold (Dishonored) it says "this content's region does not match this console" and cant download it.

I've been told the only option would be to switch to NZ region but I'm afraid it may compromise the content I already bought on the US shop?

Not to mention the fact that if I switch to NZ I won't be able to switch back to US when I go back there within next 3 months.

Can't download purchased game.

99% errors generally mean that your account region does not match your physical region, and the content you are trying to download has region restrictions.

Where do you live? What is your account region setting?

Probably so. I think you need to use the one for the region your in? Or is it the one where the Xbox was purchased? Hmmmm, good question.

Sorry to tell you that you don't really have much of an option here. If you really must have the game then switch to NZ to download it. You will need to wait 90 days before switching back to US though.

Another option would be to see if you can add the game to your download queue on the website here. If it works the game will wait in your download history until you move to the US.

You can check your download history on the console after trying this by going to Settings>Accounts>Download History.

I already tried to do it through the website but I get the same result.

If I do switch to NZ shop will I keep the content I bought on the US shop? (I know I need to spend the money on my account before I do switch)

Also will I keep my download history and ability to redownload the games I already own under my US account?

You may not be able to redownload the items that you have previously purchased through the US marketplace but so long as they are on your console you'll be good.

Once you move to the US and region change back to there then you'll have full access to the content again.

The game is available in Germany so region restriction is only an issue if you're account region is not set for Germany.

Usually game language will be controlled by the region that the Xbox is set in, but with some 360 Games these could be regionally restricted. e.g. will only provide you the alternative language based on the region it was sold.

But in general it usually take the region the xbox is set to.
