Region issue with Gears of War codes

Discus and support Region issue with Gears of War codes in XBoX Sales and Promo to solve the problem; I live in Netherlands. In December I've bought Xbox One S + Gears of War 4 bundle, after a couple received codes for GoW1, GoW2, GoW3. None of these...     Region issue with Gears of War codes


    I live in Netherlands. In December I've bought Xbox One S + Gears of War 4 bundle, after a couple received codes for GoW1, GoW2, GoW3. None of these works in my region, which doesn't make any sense. As these are available in Netherlands store and my Xbox
    is set to this region.

    Trying to redeem a code for Gears of war 3 on xbox one, it's giving me an error! any solutions?

    What error code do you receive with the error message? Does your account region match your physical location?

    Most of the time the issue is region related. Not all of the Gears games are region locked, but some of them are.

    wow, that was unexpected.

    I managed to fix it by changing Xbox 360 region, which was challenging to find on its own. I have never had Xbox 360 and so it's region was automatically set to country I activated Microsoft account first (Ukraine).

    So, switching to Netherlands helped for all issues. Now I can also install free Xbox 360 games given by Xbox Live Gold.

    Change it - Sign in to your Microsoft account

    keep in mind if you have your console set to English that would be why

    You need to match account region at commerce.microsoft.com and your console region with your actual region

    Console language has to match also

    So dutch or German I think was the other option

    Yes, I switched language to Dutch. Didn't help either.

    Anyway, changing Xbox 360 account region helped. But, again, it was tricky to understand what it was and how to fix it. Same goes for this forum, btw. Couldn't find this discussion in menu, was to get here by Go to my discussions->Support and very fast pressing
    on my post otherwise it was replaced with some unrelated support discussion, which I have never took part in.

    This page has some info on this Billing help - Microsoft account

    Apparently, I had to change my billing country manually after move. But Microsoft never has asked me to do this. This was the core of the whole problem.
