Regenerate challenges.

Mostly there are some issues with the challenges and it seems like a small problem to most but for a game that only has a multiplayer mode, well this is a big deal. I feel this is yet another step in the wrong direction
for current and future games. It just feels like they tailored the challenges around dull unbalanced goals that don't make sense for a game of this nature. Hopefully in the future games like this will give people something to look forward to.

This is pretty much how I feel about the challenges as well.

IMPO, a perfect example of a 'dull, unbalanced goal' is the smart pistol challenge. Did it make me more proficient with the smart pistol? It did not. It did nothing more than become
a frustrating grind because it forced me to change to a play style that is soo different from my typical style that it was nothing more than an exercise in frustration.

To make matters worse, you feel corralled into using the thing no matter what map you're on just so you can get the challenge over with. Let me tell you... it's not such a useful
weapon on large maps that have long sight lines, where most players are on rooftops or are out in the open with more distance capable weapons *curses Boneyard and Nexus*. If they don't see you first and take you down from a distance, they're usually gone by
the time you can close in and get near enough to lock on. Well, that's if you don't mind wondering through barely populated buildings in an effort to travel those distances unseen.

FTMP, the challenges are just... OK. But some of them just feel like little more than a grind and as some have said already, are there more to keep you playing than to keep you
interested and enjoying them. I'm on Gen 9 now and for the last... probably 3 Gs (including 9) I've been sitting at 50 waiting... and waiting... and waiting to get just 1 or 2 challenges finally finished just so I can move on and never have to deal with them
again.

maybe you can answer this for me then....does the smart pistol with the upgrade take a pilot down in one lock on or will you actually just end up aiming manually?

The Smart Pistol upgrade basically makes it lock on a bit faster and gives a [little] bit more distance to the lock on, but at the sacrifice of the size of the lock on reticule.
It doesn't take too much from the size of your targeting area but it takes away enough to make a noticeable difference. Unfortunately, it still requires 3 lock ons to kill a pilot.

I've been playing Attrition to complete challenges, currently need to doom 20 titans by rodeo to progress. Had a guy mad at me because he said I didn't have the teams back, but I had 6 dooms. I was confused beacusei thought dooming titans netted me the most
points.

The gen 5 goosers has been the only challenge I've not enjoyed so far. In some cases, I really wasn't enjoying using a certain weapon to begin with - the sniper rifles for instance - but once I adapted my play style to them, I ended up liking them.

I've been stuck on gen 5 level 50 for a few days because I need 2 more goosers and I just can't seem to get them. The 3 I have got were complete accidents - I blew up titans inside buildings, so when the pilot ejected, they hit the ceiling right above their
heads and bounced back down and I managed to shoot them by chance.

Yeah the Railgun is useless. Some of the challenges are just way to hard. Have to waste tons of time trying to get them done.

I guess it's a pretty polarizing gameplay mechanic... In the end, there's no real advantage to regenerating other than a tag and a number. You could just play it without regenerating and max out all the weapons and abilities... Playing solely for fun, K/D
ratio or stats in general... Whatever floats your boat.

I think if Titanfall's regeneration system had been around before the likes of CoD's Prestige system, it might be a slightly different story... Imo...

Yes how about replacing some of the ridiculous challenges with ones like get 100 assists or get 10 kills while riding on a titan.

Yea theres no real team spirit. Everyone is off doing their own thing, killing this or that in some obscure way. Its rare for me to come across a room where there are actually players sticking with one another to get kills

Thank you for agreeing with me Juggernaut and I also agree with you saying that the challenges open you up to new weapons and experiences in the game. However, this is something that is poorly implemented and like I stated before, something that is aimed
at keeping rather than encouraging. Challenges where you have kill ridiculous amounts of people in abstract ways is NOT opening me or anyone up to a new style of play. It is simply giving the general audience of the game unrealistic expectations. Especially
in a competitive multiplayer game. Challenges should be focused on things like winning and supporting your team not shooting 50 players out of the sky with a particular weapon. This benefits no one.

I agree with that statement, that they want to keep you playing versus encouraging you to. The challenges do indeed give you a better perspective of the gun needed, but once youre done with it, youre done with it. Your attention is taken away from the objective
of the game and just on getting your particular type of kill needed , titan/pilot/all enemies, til what? Gen 10, when theres nothing else to do?

I dont think the weapons need to be tweaked, in any fashion. I believe they all are capable of doing the same damage, more or less if used in the right scenario. Enough LTS game will show anyone that.

Regenerate challenges.
