Regarding "Max and the Curse of Brotherhood" (Install Error, Xbox Live Gold version)

Hi there!

So I'm very new to the Xbox One, got mine through the door less than a day ago, and I'm coming across a very peculiar issue with downloading one of the "Games with Gold" titles. I'm on a 14-day trial for Xbox Live Gold, which came with the box the console
came with, and I found myself REALLY eager to play "Max and the Curse of Brotherhood" once I found out about it. Unfortunately, every time I attempt to install the game, it stops at 99%/100% and refuses to install any further.

I get a notification telling me the installation's stopped, so I attempted as best as I could to then reinstall it (both using the Menu screen to try and get it to continue where it left off and deleting the file and then trying to reinstall it from the
Store) and its never managed to fully install. Another person online had this issue and consulted another message board and the users suggested updating the console as that fixes the issue, however I'm completely unable to do that as my console was up-to-date
from the get-go as it's not even a day old yet.

How can this issue be solved? Does "Games with Gold" not work with trials? Is there something I'm doing wrong here to rectify this? Let me know if anyone knows how to sort this out!

Games with gold is trying to charge me.

Free Games With Gold - NOT FREE

It was shown as free in the UK.

However, as the game was one of the first listed with the GwG program this could have been an error.

 

You need a full gold membership.You can't download them if your just on a xbox live gold trial.

 

Like daft badger said you need to be gold, and I think they changed it so you have to stay gold to play the games, if you go back to silver you no longer own the game

Out of curiosity though, would you happen if I ran out of my Gold subscription and THEN brought the game while on Silver. Would I then be able to have it regardless of subscription status or as I attempted to install it through the "Games with Gold" method,
am I stuck with just having to be on Gold to play it?
