If you're receiving promotions for your old Xbox account on the email that it should be connected to, it's possible that your old account is still associated with that email address.

To try to recover your old account, you can follow these steps:

Go to the Xbox account recovery page at https://account.microsoft.com/account/xboxlive.

Enter the email address or phone number associated with your old Xbox account and click "Next."

Follow the prompts to verify your identity. You may need to provide some personal information or answer security questions.

If the system is able to verify your identity, you'll be able to recover your old Xbox account and regain access to your saved games, achievements, and other account information.

We can no longer access the old account email and therefore cannot reset the password as necessary, but just entered a request for Microsoft to change the email address on that old account so we can regain access. It seems that will be necessary to be able
to effectively use this GamerID in the future. Once this is accomplished, will follow up if we still cannot figure out how to resolve this issue.

Its very unlikely you will regain access as the intruder has changed your login info. Be sure to check your security emails for the new login information. Just don't report anything until you regain access because MS will lock your account and you'll never get it back

You need to call phone support then to regain access to your old account.
