    If you feel like you didn't know that you had the possibility of getting a refurbished power supply then please
    contact phone support for assistance, nothing I or anyone else can do for you here on the forums in regards to getting you a "new" power supply.

    It states very clearly in the repair terms that you will get a functioning power supply it can be either refurbished or new. No where does it say if you pay $40 for an out of warranty replacement it has to be new.

    Hi,

    It's quite common for Microsoft to send you a working unit (this can be new or refurbished) it's actually stated in their repair terms
    found here. You get a standard 90 day warranty on a product you've received from Microsoft. If anything happens within the 90 days to
    that power supply they will send you another no problems.

    If you have any sort of feedback to give to Microsoft in terms of the repair process feel free to do so
    here.
