    Just to start a discussion, I think that Xbox live needs to change their policy regarding refunds. There is already no incentive to buy online, but I decided why not give it a try (admittedly partially laziness for not wanting to go to the store). That said
    I downloaded Ryse Son of Rome. The download took three DAYS and then when I finally got to play it today I beat the story in five hours.

    If I had purchased this from say Gamestop then I could still return it and/or get a different game that doesn't suck. I'm not advocating that live should always give out refunds, but we should be given at least a week grace period and at the end either:
    a) we should be able to get our money back or b) they should offer us credit to buy a different game (I know in my case this would have gotten them more money because I would have gotten a more expensive game).

    Ultimately the service options provided by Microsoft are abysmal. I've loved playing on the Xbox 360 and now have the One, but I am strongly considering trading in my One for a PS4 because the new system and service from Microsoft in turn have not been up
    to par. I truly hope they fix these issues in the future and offer more options for upset customers.

    Anyone else getting preorder refunds from Amazon or elsewhere?

    I am going thru my email and I have 2 refunds from Amazon on my Xbox One games.
    I got this same email for all the games I preordered thru Amazon, bring the game cost
    down to only $48.99 each.

    Xbox Live hard to cancel

    I have called them and even if you meant to cancel after the charge has been made for the next period they won't give you any sort of refund. I was only one day late in calling to cancel and I still could not get a refund with them. The only thing they would do is not automatically renew it when came due again.

    1) The download taking 3days is not Microsoft or your Xbox's fault but your own connection.

    2) No one is forcing you to buy the game, you could of just gone to gamestop like you said, but you didn't. You knew of Microsoft's policy regarding no refunds. You managed to play the game, it did not break your xbox etc... So you'll just have to live with
    it

    3) Any game is beatable within a week so using your logic you could just keep playing games and asking refunds. Sony doesn't give you refunds and neither does steam. That's just how it works with digital games.

    4) No one is stopping you from changing systems, you're allowed to do that. Just know that their policy is likely to be similar to Microsoft's as I've mentioned above regarding the no refunds. Your downloads will also take 3days to download there because
    you have a slow download speed

    1. Yes I understand the download time was a result of my internet, I'm not an idiot.

    2. Actually I didn't know about the refund policy, I had read on Reddit that you got one refund per year no questions asked. I now understand the policy, I am just saying that the policy I set forth would be better for a billion dollar company to undertake
    to keep people happy. It is simply an alternative policy idea that I think Xbox Live people would appreciate. Further, when I contacted support the person I talked to took forever and then stated he couldn't because at that moment the system wouldn't let him.
    I only discovered the complete no return policy after specifically asking about it.

    3. A week would have been fine for me if the game took that long, but this wasn't a week it was five hours. A single afternoon. That isn't sufficient for a 30+ GB game and I don't know of anyone who thinks that a RPG type game should be beatable that quickly.
    "That's just how it works" is not a sufficient answer. I'm advocating a better policy not the status quo.

    4. Yes I can switch systems. I would think that Microsoft would provide better support given that we have to pay a monthly fee for live whereas you do not for PS. That said my problem with Xbox live goes much deeper than just this game (hacks at the beginning
    of the year without refunds of any kind, app issues, etc.).

    The conclusion I reached is a trade in option being preferable. I'm not trying to be greedy here I'm just saying that we should be given the chance to get a different game if we get one that is atrocious. The old saying the customer is always right just
    doesn't seem to apply anymore. I understand Microsoft probably won't change their policy, but if enough people are affected by a problem maybe they will alter it to some degree. That's why I posted this...

    In all fairness though if you had done 5 minutes of research on the internet you would of found out that Ryse's campaign isn't very long & there is the co-op part of the game which adds hours & hours to your play time.

    Xbox live has never been hacked.It wasn't hacked at the start of the year it was a ddos attack & if you read the CoC you will see why there were no refunds/compensation.

  7. How can Xbox be held responsible for a game whose campaign is beatable within a fraction of a day? That is a developer problem, not the gaming console company's fault, they didn't shorten it. The refund policy is in place because of user licenses. Certain
    content licenses are irrevocable and because of that, Xbox loses a content license if they refund the transaction. If there are issues with the product after troubleshooting then it is refundable per policy, but it being too easy is not a valid reason for
    a refund.

    In the future, I would suggest that you read up on the Xbox Terms of Use at the xbox website as opposed to a third party website. This way there is no confusion if this kinda of thing comes up again. This is why I like services using EA Access and Gamefly
    so I can test them out before I commit to buying them. They do offer refunds, they just have to meet certain requirements, mainly being a situation that was completely out of your control.

    Hello John, if the status says "approved" on the Microsoft side, this means they already sent the money back to your bank

    Usually the bank process it in 7 business days. In some cases this takes even 30 business days

    I recommend you to check carefully the previous last statement, or the one you're going to receive when May ends
