I have a Xbox One S controller problem! Less than a year ago I purchased a brand new, never been opened, Xbox One S, which came with a white, Xbox One S console, a matching controller, a couple starting games/ codes, some type of Xbox Live trial, the power
cord, a HDMI cord, the basic set of bilingual instructions, guides, waranty policy, and the Xbox One S manual. As I started to unpackage the contents of the box I noticed the controller didn't have a battery back, so I assumed it had fallen off and was in
the box, after unloading every item in the box I still hadn't found the battery back. This didn't bother me much, so I proceeded to plug in the console, signed into my account, set my time zone, set up my controller settings, and started downloading my games.
Things were going great, then I opened my brand new headphones, with a built in microphone , because I had heard that I could use them for a headset and wanted to see if it was true. So I plugged the headphones in and the controller didn't recognize anything
was plugged in. So I tried the new headset instead, nothing, so I wiggled the jack a little , no response from the controller, so I restarted the console , and made sure the headset worked without the controller, it did. I tried it again, and no response.
So I used my brother's Xbox One controller, and it worked perfectly. But, naturally , he needed his controller, leaving me with a detective controller. I would like to find out how to get a refund or represent controller.

So, I wasn't exactly sure where to post this, but about a week ago I cancelled my Xbox live and EA access subscriptions and I was told I would get a refund in a couple of days, it has been about a week and I haven't got it yet

Can I get a refund for a digital game?

No. You can’t return a digital game and receive a refund or credit.

 

For a refund you would have to return it to the retailer you purchased it from, but it sounds like it may be too late for that. You'd have to contact them to find out their return policy.

Otherwise, controllers have a 90 day warranty. If it's still within the 90 days you can set up a replacement with Microsoft Xbox One Wireless Controller Help | Fix Your Xbox One Controller

If it's outside of either of those options, you would have to buy a new one.
