    Okay, so I pre-ordered Forza Horizon 4 Deluxe Edition on 9/27 to avoid absurdly long download times. The game released 12/2 at 12am EST. meaning 5 days passed before I could actually play it.

    Now, due to the nature of the game (long prologue sequence that can take several hours to complete even if you rush through it, and the varying seasons week to week), I put some hours into the game to try and experience it and maybe change my opinion of
    it. I suppose I figured I think differently of it after experience all four seasons, I did not. Now requesting a refund never crossed my mind until after Red Dead Redemption 2 released (for one, HDD space, and two I know I'm not going to play FH4 again). Problem,
    9/27/2018 + 30 Days = 10/27/2018 ... I didn't file a request until 10/30...because that was the day I learned refunding digital items was even a thing.

    SO, MS says I don't qualify for a refund because 9/27 + 30 Days = "**** You!" apparently. I argue, there's 5 days of negative space that shouldn't count against me. 10/2 + 30 Days = 11/1 ... I wish I could file a report that was more in-depth, but it's pretty
    much being ticked off because 9/27 + 30 Days = "No." Chat can't help, they best they told me was file a report and reply to the email that MS sent me... I did, but I'm certain they don't/won't reply back.

    I'll be honest, I genuinely didn't refunding digital goods was a thing. I knew you could cancel pre-orders, but I had assumed digital goods were effectively set. 3 days late from filing a report according to their rules, but I again argue, that's 5 days
    of negative space where I never touched the game because I literally couldn't. What happens to people that pre-order a month+ in advance, but don't like the game a day/week in? No refund for them I assume based on my experience.

    Is there any possible way I can get a refund, today is 11/1, the last technical day I could possibly argue my position in this, but I'm pretty doubtful. Chat bot doesn't show the option, MS refund team replies with "No" and I know it's because they're looking
    at the 9/27 pre-order date, but again...that should not count against me because I couldn't play the game for 5 ****ing days from that date! I just wish there was a more human option for me to argue my case instead of webforms and waiting for an email.

    That's $79.99 just thrown away on something I was excited about, forced myself to play to TRY and change my mind, and then, albeit too late apparently, learned I could MAYBE get my money back... 30 Days is a pretty **** window for forming an opinion especially
    when consider outside factors.

    The reason for this is that the refund request webform is designed for English regions currently, other refund requests may still be made with a support agent in any region through our
    Customer Support Page where a callback may be requested.

    The 30 days starts from the day you pay (like with any retailer). When you preorder using a credit card or Paypal, you're not actually charged until about 10 days before the game is released. That's why you can cancel a pre-order before that time without
    having to deal with the refund rules. Once they charge you, then you'd have 30 days to refund the purchase. Since you pre-ordered a few days before the release, you were charged immediately.

    So I'm getting reamed because I didn't want to watch a progress bar on 10/2, and tried to give the game a chance (it has multiple seasons that change how it plays that literally take weeks to experience)... awesome.

    The terms on digital purchases do state that all sales are final with no refunds. If course there are exceptions and they will issue refunds in some cases.

    It sounds like you have played the game for more than a few hours and although you don't like it, that probably doesn't entitle you to a refund.

    I was explained to this by a rep after posting this... Apparently that 30 day policy is just for special cases/exceptions and from the sounds of it 'maybes.'

    But, yes, all digital sales are final and "non-refundable." So I'm out $80 regardless of how I feel...

    MS desperately needs that Steam-like store they talked about when announcing the XB1. At least let us get something back for old digital games...and maybe refine the digital sales to allow for full and partial refunds in relative timed dates from purchase.
    I would be through the roof if MS gave me half of my $80.

    But yeah, after reading and a lengthy discussion with a rep, yeah, that $80 is definitely gone. Sucks.

    And I do apologize for my tone -I was... am still, but less-so, at a titanic-level of frustration, but I did use colorful language and a snappy, jerk, blockheaded tone that doesn't progress my case/argument, or accomplish anything really other than me venting.

    I'd delete/close this post if I could, but I don't know how to do that, so leaving it be.

    Again, I do apologize for the heated tone, just $80 thrown away and that stings.

    No, they refunded me... I am completely shocked!

    Regardless, my tone and behavior was pretty ****, and as my previous post states, it doesn't really help anything other than allowing me to vent and look like/be a jerk.

    I can only assume one of those replies to the request denial emails went through, or I don't know...

    If this thread/post can be closed/deleted/resolved, that would be great. Thanks!
