Refund of Microsoft Account balance

The money will be refunded to your Microsoft account balance, not to the card. The card was only used to add money to your Microsoft account.

It can take a few days for the refund process to be completed. Normally it takes up to 3 to 5 days for this.

But since the money was taken from your Microsoft account balance, it will get back there, not to the gift card.

The refund will be added back to your Microsoft account balance. The points won't be refunded since you'll still have the funds

Is it possible if I bought something with my balance and then refund it to get refunded in a gift card for example? I don't necessarily need to get refunded in money. If a gift card is possible I would be helped tremendously!

No, it would just get refunded to your account balance in that situation. Refunds always go back to the original purchase method, in this case your account balance.

Thanks for your response! Unfortunately there is no way to refund Microsoft Account balances back to currency. The balance on your account can be used to purchase other software and games or even rent/buy movies on the Microsoft store.
