    I'm at my witts end.

    I've been trying to get a refund for Battlefield 2042 for weeks now. It's getting ridiculous and I've been chasing my tale trying to get money back which I'm well entitled too.

    I played the TRIAL and my last game play time was on the Thursday the 18th (had only played around 7 hours) I requested the refund on Friday the 19th (last day of trial and release date) due to the fact that the game is fundamentally broken, not as advertised and doesn't work as it should in my xbox one, with server issues, crashes, freezes and terrible performance. If that wasn't enough to qualify for a refund then the fact is was labelled a TRIAL should override that, not that that isn't enough though - the game is not a finished product.

    So I was dumbfounded to see an email to say my refund had been rejected - are you you kidding. So I went on the live chat, no surprise they don't deal with refunds and told me to reply to my email, so I did and now I've been waiting 5 days with no confirmation email, nothing. I tried again today with the chat, she couldn't even provide me with an email address.

    Obviously there's a glaring issue that your system does not recognise a trial or the fact that you seem to think as a company that your exempt from simple consumer rights, if a product I purchased through you doesn't work, your responsible to remedy it.

    I also have tried going through EA with their game guarantee and no susprise there, if you purchased the game through xbox you have to deal with them. Great, back to square one.

    I'm posting this on here as a last ditch attempt to get some attention about the matter as it seems I'm being brushed under the rug every turn I take.

    EA Play games not free/costing

    You're welcome and to access the trial simply follow the steps below:

    On your console, open the Store app and search for Battlefield 2042

    Select Battlefield 2042 Xbox One - Choose edition

    Select Battlefield 2042 Xbox One - this should be the first option with no price available

    Select Free Trial with EA Play and then select Install all

    I thought the same and apparently if it's purchased through a console you have to deal with them instead, the cycle continues....

    Ah I see well if that's the case then that makes sense.

    I didn't explain every detail as I've already spent some time trying to sort this out when it should just be straight forward and simple.

    This post is literally to try and get their attention as they've been incredibly unhelpful and their chat system is flaud in so many ways.

    Wow ok so you're wrong about a few things off the bat I'm afraid.

    I preordered the game back in October and you are totally incorrect about the fact the 'TRIAL' wasn't paid. The whole game was paid in full thank you, I wasn't even aware it was a trial until downloading it on the 12th as they never said. This is obviously because they know the game wasn't in a good state at launch. All £53.99 of it was paid on the 12th when the early access trial was released so please don't patronise me, don't know where your getting your information from, I have proof of purchase that indeed the money was taken out on the 12th. But no need for that as xbox already know that.

    My mate also had all the same issues as me, played the same amount of time and was refunded no problem. My guess is he did it earlier in that week so there were no questions asked.

    7 hours of 10 hour TRIAL is not significant play time, especially when half of that time I spent rebooting the game and waiting in the menu due to poor performance and an unfinished game. Think about it for a second, why would they release a 10 hour trial for early access if 10 hours wasn't enough time to play to see if you thought the game was worth it.

    Regardless of the above, ea has a satisfaction guarantee which applies to newly purchased games being unsatisfactory, the issue is they've brushed it off to xbox to deal with if you purchased via xbox store.

    I have done as you said and I received the same automated response as previous and I'm still getting nowhere.

    Is there anyone you could raise this issue to so they take this more seriously? The automated responses are not taking into account the fact that A. It was a trial and B. The EA guarantee ensures if a game is not satisfactory or even playable in this case then they refund you the full amount
    If EA is the one that supposedly guarantees the game, then it is EA that you should be dealing with. What have they said about their guarantee of the game quality?
