Refund for a broken game after 14 days.

Hi all,

Hoping for some help with this. Short back story:

Bought F1 2020 on 18th July and played for less than a month when a bug in the game corrupted the save game and deleted it. Its a well documented issue with many others coming forward on the CodeMasters forum. It turns out this bug was caused by one of their
own patches.

It’s been 2 months since this happened and I havent been able to play the game since as they havent fixed the bug. In fact, their communication has been horrendous.

I’ve given up hope that theyll fix it and recover our save games anytime soon so I’m trying to get a refund.

I know it falls out of the 14 day period, however there must be some sort of refund policy for a game in which the most fundamental aspect is broken.

Any help is appreciated.

Unless the developer of said game comes out and says "oh yeah our game is broken, so Microsoft just go ahead and refund everyone and we will reimburse you" then i doubt it unfortunately.

Reason being is if Microsoft did refund you that money it would come out of their own pocket unless the makers of the game refund them since its the makers of F1 2020 who have the majority of the money you spent on the game.

Microsoft gets to keep very little of what you spend on a game. The good majority of the $60 you typically spend on a game goes to the makers.

after 14 days then no, same with most companies, but if the game is broken and cannot be played then get in touch with ubisoft for a refund, as you bought from the microsoft store the money still goes to ubi.

no there is no way to refund a game after 14 days or two hours of playing, and being bored of it is not a reason that will get you a refund, this is not a game rental service

you will never be able to get a refund, no service on the planet would refund like that, the only time you would possibly get a refund is if the game is broken or you have not played it and purchased the game less than 14 days prior.

buying goods is final, what you are wanting would never happen full stop.

Ok, if your purchase that you want to refund has been purchased after 14 days, then yoy cant refund it, Microsoft only refunds you if the purchase has been made under 14 days i hope this helps you
