Refund denied on Call of duty vanguard

A while ago I had made a request on call of duty vanguard. Before being the game I had checked reviews and they seemed positive. The game was also on sale so I go it. Well the gane was awful lots of lag which made it almost unplayable. I play may other multiplayer games and have never experienced something this bad. I immediately went to try and get a refund and it was denied. I really dont like that there's no option that says that you no longer want the game. It's been a while since I got the game but if I could somehow still possibly get a refund it would be great.

I've noticed my game will start to update once I enter Multiplayer mode. It'll complete the update, I re-enter the Multiplayer screen, and it needs to update again. This cycle continues and doesn't seem to stop (I usually give up and try again a few days later or reinstall the game entirely). I've tried the Reset Xbox fix mentioned in this thread and no luck for this issue. Any other possible solutions out there?

This could be due to a cache issue and can be solved trough this step:

Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

Restart your Xbox console. Press and hold the Xbox button in the center of your Xbox One controller to open the Power Center. Select Restart console and then select Restart. (If the console appears to be frozen, press and hold the Xbox button on the console for 10 seconds, until the console turns off. After the console shuts down, touch the Xbox button on the console again to restart.)

After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.
