    Hi - has anyone else had any warranty problems regarding new hardware?

    My particular problem is that I have only received 9 months warranty on a brand new Xbox One X.

    Despite many hours on the internet and phone communicating with Microsoft 'Support' and providing proof of purchase, I still haven't received my full entitlement of 1 year warranty.

    Microsoft Support whilst seemingly very obliging and full of intent, have on the whole been absolutely appalling

    The matter is made worse by the fact that my first 'X' died after only a few hours. The replacement is still going strong after 2 whole weeks!!!!

    However, given my past experience with the first 'X' and the fact that the internet is littered with posts regarding failed X's, I'm very conscious of the need to have the full 12 months warranty.

    Has anyone had this problem with Microsoft warranties - and did they ever get resolved?

    Hi!

    i just purchased an XBOX ONE X, and if i check the warranty on my microsoft account it says :

    (3 years) Manufacturer Warranty until 01/23/2020. that's not 3 years, that's about 1.5 year ???

    I also have an XBOX ONE S which is about 1 year old and its warranty is valid until 01/17/2020

    how is it possible that a 1 year old console has almost the same warranty date than a brand new one ??

    hi there, i saw an advert on facebook one guy is selling a brand new xbox one x sealed. i just wanted to know that how would i know that it will be under warranty or not? is there anyway i can put serial number on website and check. thanks in advance

    Hey there!

    I am sorry to hear that you have had such a hard time with getting your warranty adjusted! It should not be that difficult as long as you have provided all the necessary information. I would give Xbox Support another contact either on phones (1-800-4MY-XBOX)
    or through the chat system. As long as your Proof of Purchase clearly shows the date, item, store, purchase amount and that it was paid in full, as well shows that this was not a used console in any way, then you should be good to go. I would just contact
    Xbox Support again and perhaps try a different agent to help you out.

    Also, one more thing....if the console you have is a "replacement" for the original one through an Xbox Repair then you will only get 90 days or the remaining time of the original warranty. It will not start off back at 1 year with the replacement device.
    Wasn't 100% sure if the One X you have is a new one you got at the store or a replacement from Xbox for the 1st console you had issues with

    Mine wasn't new hardware issue. I brought a Xbox one S 1TB console from the online Microsoft store in November 2017 i sent it for repair December 2017 because the fan was chirping and became increasingly annoying. Got it back in January 2018 and it lasted
    2 weeks before it started again, i put up with it until June 2018 when i decided it needed to go back again. But when i went to Register it for repair Microsoft had tagged my Xbox as out of warranty despite having months left, 2 weeks and 2 forty minute phone
    calls later they excepted it back and even gave me a 2 year manufactures warranty as an apology.

    The replacement was missing the green boot screen has save game errors and crashes. system won't turn off unless hard reset after a crash.

    it is currently sat on my desk unplugged because it no longer does anything but power on.

    Luckily both my Xbox one consoles still work fine.

    Brand new xbox one X having issues with wireless controllers - controllers dc when ethernet is removed, randomly, and sometimes dont work at all.

    If it is an issue with the brand new Xbox One X, you have voided your warranty.

    Is the $249 to repair Xbox One X for a simple issue negotiable? All I need is an HDMI port fixed.

    I have tried negotiating with Microsoft because I have sent my Xbox one x back three times because the disk drive stopped working within the warranty. The disk drive went a fourth time and it was no longer in warranty by one day. I tried to negotiating
    with them on a reduced price. It did not work. I ended up buying a brand new Xbox One S off of Amazon for $150 instead. I am now just using my Xbox One X as my digital only system.
