Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. Did you redeem the code from the console, or from the website? Was the code for Vbucks, or Microsoft currency? If it was for currency, then you would now have to use that to buy V-Bucks.

Thanks for the quick reply. I would suggest for you to check your
order history. To see if it shows the redemption of the code on your account. As well, I would like to clarify the code that was purchased have you double checked to see if maybe its an Xbox Gift Card ? It could be that you redeemed Microsoft account currency.

This would add the money to your account to use as payment option when trying to purchase the item you wish (in this case V-bucks)

I would suggest you check that you redeemed a card to put $ into your Microsoft account.

Use your Xbox One console to check your Microsoft account balance without going online.

1. Select Settings > All Settings > Account > Payment & billing. To help protect your
   account, you may be asked to enter your password.
2. Your balance is shown under Microsoft account. You may have to scroll right to see it.

Or purchase redemption cards and use those.
