Redeeming xbox live gold trial 14 day and 2 day not working...... Please help.

I recently ran out of xbox live gold. I wanted to play with some friends this weekend on the xbox 360. So I redeemed and xbox live gold 14 day trial card that I got with my xbox one when I bought it. I put the code in the xbox 360. When I redeemed it I still
didn't have gold. So I shut down the xbox over night, the next morning it still said I wasn't a gold member on the xbox 360. But I was able to participate in matchmaking games on the xbox one...... So I thought that since I got the code with my xbox one I
thought it might only apply to the xbox one. So my friend said he had a 2 day trial from an xbox 360 game. I put that in and redeemed it. For some reason I was able to join parties but I was not able to play with my friends in the game Destiny. I am getting
really frustrated cause I just want to play with friends and don't know what is going on, can someone help?

14 Day trial ended after 1 day

Please bear in mind Xbox Gold trials does not stack to each other. If you redeemed a 14 day trial code then redeem a 2 day code it will remove the 14 day trial code. Have you redeemed other codes besides the 14 day trial?

One-month and 14-day Xbox Live Gold subscriptions!

Can I use the one-month Xbox Live Gold trial subscription after using or redeeming the 14-day one??

Destiny requires a full gold subscription, so trials will not work.

Trials only give you access to some benefits of online multiplayer. So not all online modes are available.

Please bear in mind Xbox Gold trials does not stack to each other. If you redeemed a 14 day trial code then redeem a 2 day code it will remove the 14 day trial code. Have you redeemed other codes besides the 14 day trial?

Because a 'xbox games pass ultimate 14 days trial code' equals a 'xbox game pass 14 days trial code + xbox live gold 14 days trial code', so for new Microsoft/Xbox accounts, a 'xbox game pass ultimate 14 days trial codes' could be used/sold as 'xbox game
pass 14 days trial code' or 'xbox gold live 14 days trial code' , right?

Please help to clarify.

Hi,

You don't have any sort of a free trial attached to your account. If you were offered a 30 day trial on the console dashboard you'll need to add a payment method in order to take advantage of it.

If you redeemed a trial code like a 2 day or 14 day trial, or even a 30 day trial code from a redemption card then you wouldn't need any sort of payment details. The 2 day/14 day card doesn't give you gold status but lets you play online for the stated days
(2 or 14 days, depending on what you redeemed), or 30 days (which will give you gold status) if you redeemed it from a gold subscription card.

that is why unable to get the backward compatible games. They will not work with the 14 day trial unfortunately. In this link

describing Xbox live gold there is a section explains the trials.

With an Xbox Live Gold 2- to 14-day trial, you can get Xbox One Games with Gold, and discounted Gold deals.

If it was a one month trial you could get the backward compatible games.
