Redeeming Xbox Live Gold Membership

Two days ago I purchased an Xbox Live Gold membership from ****. It is for my boys Xbox 360 and this is our first time doing this. I've tried redeeming it on the Xbox and on my computer and it tells me it is an invalid code. The code on the docket is only
24 characters (excluding the hyphens) and the xbox 360 says to enter 25 digits. Not sure what to do.....PLEASE HELP Thanks

Sorry to hear it. I would recommend returning the code to the store for an exchange as all Xbox Live codes must be 25 characters long.

Xbox Live trial memberships can only be redeemed if you do not have an existing Xbox Live Gold membership. You can redeem a trial code once your current membership has expired.

Just to clarify, did you purchase an Xbox Live Gold membership through the Dashboard promotion on your console? Or did you redeem a pre-paid Xbox Live membership? If you redeemed a pre-paid code, you will not qualify for this offer. In order for you to qualify
for this offer, you would have needed to purchase an Xbox Live Gold membership directly through the promotion on your console. Thanks!

Also please don't forget it is not possible to use an Xbox Live Gold trial whilst you have an active gold membership. If you do have an active gold membership if you allow it to expire and you should then be able to redeem the code.
