Redeeming Crysis 3 multiplayer code without Gold

I have recently purchased a hunter edition of Crysis 3. It came with a code, which I proceeded to input into the redeem code section, on xbox.com. After inputting the code, the website recognised it to be a Crysis 3 hunter edition code. However, upon pressing
confirm, the following statement came up:

"Something went wrong. Give it another try. If this happens again, let us know by entering the code below at xbox.com/errorhelp so we can investigate." I did give it several tries, to no avail. The 'code below' was error code 80153005, which
I entered into xbox.com/errorhelp, and found no information that was useful to me, other than the statement "the content may not be available anymore".

So is the content not available anymore? I couldn't find any information on the web backing this up, so unless you guys can confirm it I am going to have to assume that it is still available, and that another problem exists. The only possible
explanation I can think of is that, as this code is only useful for multiplayer, the fact that I do not have gold yet is what causes this error. However, the reason I do not have xbox gold yet is simply because I am waiting to make sure that this code works.

So, is it possible to redeem this code without xbox gold? If it is not, my problem is solved and I will buy xbox gold and then redeem this code. If it is possible, I am still in the dark on what the problem is and would greatly appreciate it
if someone told me.

Crysis 3 was the worst, Crysis 2 was meh (multiplayer was excelent), but Crysis 1 is the best in the series
