Redeemed xbox live trial code but won't work

Hello, my live ran out today and instead of buying a new sub I was going to use up all my free trials... Well I first put in a code for a 14 day trial on the xbox and everything went well at first. When I clicked to redeem the item at the end my xbox stalled
and so I had to turn it off. Trial was not there when I turned it back in so I put it in again and it said it was already redeemed. Now still unphased because it is a free trial after all, I put in another code for a 3 day trial, this time it didn't stall
or anything but the gold status does not show up nor can I play any games online.

Short version: free trial won't show up and can't play games online. Have now wasted a total of 17 days of free trial codes. All of which say redeemed if entered again.

Were you using a 14 day trial before you redeemed this code ?

What if I'm on a 14-day prepaid code trial and I upgrade to Xbox Live Gold during the trial period to take advantage of a free game offer? Will I get the game?

If you upgrade to Xbox Live Gold during your non-renewing trial period, your Xbox Live Gold membership won't start until the end of your free trial.
You won't be eligible to download a currently offered free game until your trial period ends and your paid membership begins.

Xbox live not working

I didn't have xbox gold but i had a free 14 day trial. I redeemed the code and then went into my game and live didn't work. Why is this happening?

Some trials for Gold do not actually give you Gold but rather let you "try" some of the features of gold. Games such as Destiny require a paid subscription and will not work with trials. If the account that you are posting from is the one that redeemed
the codes then it is showing as Gold here on the website. Unfortunately though, trials do not stack. Basically what that means is that you most likely have written over the 14 day trial with a 3 day trial. For future reference use only one trial at a time.

Okay well I didn't know that I wouldn't be able to play destiny haha. That was the game I tested anyway, thanks for the quick reply and I apologize for the duplicate posts. I only realized now I hadn't deleted the original when I posted in the proper section.

my account is basically locked because i cant change my payment option and everytime i try it says it isnt able to process, i cant call because im currently in japan due to the military and would like to use my account

I don't know if anyone else already posted the solution to this, but a friend had the same issue with the same error. The problem was, he was trying to redeem a code over a trial gold. Live Gold and Gold Trial, doesn't mix up, that's why the solution is
to let the gold subsciption end and then redeem the code. So if you have a Live Gold and try to redeem a Trial code (like the one included with the xbox) or the other way around, it won't work.

Hey there Wulkanista!

Sorry to hear that you're dealing with this issue trying to get your trial code redeemed.

You should be able to redeem the trial code anywhere you can redeem a regular subscription code (online, or through consoles). However I just wanted to add that it's important to note that trials will not work if you have already had a subscription to Live
ever before.

If you are trying to redeem more then one code it won't work

Trial codes aren't stackable and you must wait till the previous one expires before using the next one
