Redeemed my Xbox Live Gold activation key, but still got a silver account.

Hi Support and others,

Last night I activated my Xbox Live Gold, but I'm still a silver member.

Is it possible that this has something to do with the error which was there last night?

When I'm trying to use my activation key again it says that "It's already been used".

I downloaded my account several times, so that can't be the problem.

It's around 8-10 hours ago that I activated the key (through the Xbox 360 console itself).

Xbox Live Confusion?

Xbox Live is free.

You can make a Gold account, or a Silver account.

The Gold account gives you access to access to play online, along with free monthly games and weekly deals. This has a fee.

The Silver account gives you access to Xbox Live and apps, but you just can't play online or get the free games. This is free.

 

Can'f find my Live account

I had an Xbox One - I bought a Live Gold Account activation card from the store. I redeemed the card via my xbox, got signed in and all was fine. My Xbox got fried from a power surge. I just got a new Xbox One S - but when I signed in with my email address
- It gave me a new gamer tag, and didn't recognize that I have an active membership. How do I get my gamer tag and gold membership back on my new machine?

 

Sorry to hear it. Please double check commerce.microsoft.com to ensure that the code was applied to your account. If not then perhaps you may have accidentally applied it to another account.

If the code was successfully applied to your account or accidentally added to a different one you will still need to contact phone support for more assistance.

If the code was accidentally applied to a different account support may be able to cancel it and send you a code to apply to your regular account. If it was applied to your regular account and is not showing it they should be able to look into it and fix
it from their end.

I checked if it was added to my account, but it isn't. But the key is still "Already been used".

The first time I was trying to activate the key it seems to work, but it didn't afterwards. I am 100% sure I didn't applied the code to another account. Just wondering why it didn't just activated the way it used to be.

 

Ok, as of right now you're showing as a Gold member. However if you still cannot access Gold activities then please contact phone support as suggested above.

I did contact Xbox through a chat, and they helped me solving the issue. I still don't know why it didn't worked, but I got Xbox live now. Their service through the chat was perfect by the way!
