Redeemed code from $25 card but XBOX Live needs my credit card info.

Hola. I want to purchase add-ons for games I already own (Bubble Bobble Neo and Pac-Man CE DX) and redeemed the $25 card but XBOX Live is asking for a change of payment method. I don't think I need to because I believe I should have money on my account from
a $25 and honestly I don't want to give that card information away. Am I not seeing something or do I need to wait for confirmation in my e-mail inbox (which I haven't received in an half-an-hour)?

Removing credit card from Live Gold account

I have redeemed a 12 month pre-paid membership code to renew my Xbox Live Gold membership through 1/14/16. I have also redeemed a gift card and have a $25 credit on my account. There are no pending payments on the credit card and auto-renew is turned off.
Can I remove the credit card from my account without cancelling the membership? I just want to use the redeemed gift card for purchases and no have a credit card attached to the account

Do these add-ons make you pay the exact amount on your account? If that's the case, then there's a tax on these purchases, which probably is what's stopping you from purchasing.

If you are trying to purchase from the website, you will not be able to use any money in your account as the website has not yet been updated to handle the currency conversion. If you try to purchase from your console directly, you will be able to use the
money in your account without issue and without adding an additional payment method.

Xbox Live Gold can be purchased using a credit card or using a prepaid 25-digit redeemable code you can buy from many retailers.

If you don't have a credit card, it's best to go with the prepaid cards. Once you purchase one from a retailer, you can redeem the code in a number of ways. I'll provide an article that explains how to redeem an Xbox Live Gold prepaid subscription code:

I did this and all the options I had was for a digital or physical Visa card and neither of those have a 25 character code that can be redeemed on Xbox

That is correct. What you would have redeemed from the vault is a prepaid Visa card, not an Xbox gift card.

Yes and the instructions provided by Xbox state you can redeem for a visa card or redeem a 25 digit code on the Xbox Store and at no time is there an option for a 25 digit code. The instructions need to be change
