Redeemed a 12 month Gold in August of 2019, lost it thanks to Game Pass Ultimate?

In August of 2019 I was offered the $1 trial of game pass ultimate, I still had about of month left on my gold subscript from 2018, it was going to expire in September. While I was on the game pass ultimate trial I redeemed a prepaid code for another
one year gold and the subscription section of my Xbox said that my game pass ultimate trial was extended to February 2020. I thought that was great and also assumed that once the game pass ultimate expired, I would then revert back to my one year prepaid gold,
fast forward to now and this doesn't seem to be the case. I understood that my current gold at the time which had a month left was rolled into the game pass trial, but it was not clear that if I redeemed a 12 month gold while on game pass ultimate, that it
would not continue to count after the game pass ultimate expired. Is there any way that this can be fixed? can I some how get back the balance of that time on the prepaid one year gold?.... If not then I learned my lesson about game pass ultimate and will
avoid ever overlapping it with a one year Gold prepaid again.

When you have an Ultimate subscription and you add a prepaid gold or game pass it is also converted to Ultimate, but at a different conversion rate based on price. So a 12 month subscription adds 4 months of Ultimate. The only way to avoid that is by
either cancelling your Ultinate subscription before adding the card or waiting for the Ultimate to end before adding the card. Since you already addsd the card and it was converted, there is no way to revert it back.

"All conversions to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate are final: Once converted, you cannot re-convert your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership back to a previous membership."

This statement covers ONLY the conversion of currently stacked memberships; that is, memberships that are active or prepaid subscriptions that are currently redeemed. With the conversion, all those memberships become Game Pass Ultimate, and will
run until the end of that subscription period. So, let's say you have 12 months of Gold that expire on 1 July 2019. If you do the conversion, your renewal date moves to 1 August 2019, as you get the first month of GP Ultimate for $1, then your existing 12
months will become GP Ultimate.

If you currently have Game Pass Ultimate and attempt to redeem a 12 month Xbox Live Gold code, it will convert to a 3 or 4 month Ultimate subscription. If you want to continue with just Gold for 12 months and not Ultimate, you would have to wait for the
Ultimate to expire before redeeming the regular Gold code.

If you don't currently have Ultimate, then you should have no problem redeeming the 12 months of Gold.

Yes the auto renewal is off already. I have the Game pass ultimate until May 25. I already bought a new 12 month xbox live gold card but when I try to redeem the code it says my 12 month
gold will be automatically convert to a 4 months xbox game pass ultimate which I don't want. I want the 12 month of xbox live without the game pass. Do I really have to wait until my xbox game pass expired before I can redeem a new xbox live gold (without
the game pass ultimate)?

Thanks for coming to the forums. When you have an active Ultimate game pass subscription, any code redeemed converts to Ultimate subscription. In this case 12 months of Xbox live gold convert to 4 months of Ultimate game pass. The ultimate game pass subscription
