    Hi, I have purchased xbox one cards for my son and activated them successfully and the amount shows up in his account but when he tries to make in-game purchases it says he has no money. Please help, cheers Jo

    Add Money to my existing accout

    You can either just use your credit card to make the purchase or you would need to purchase a prepaid points card/gift card in a store and redeem that card in order to add cash to your Microsoft account.

    Prepaid Code - Different regions

    When you purchase an Xbox gift card, make sure that the currency you use matches the currency associated with the recipient’s billing account. Otherwise, the recipient will be unable to redeem the gift card.

    If you redeem an Xbox gift card in a country that doesn’t match the country associated with your billing account, you won’t be able to use those funds.

    The funds in your Microsoft account can’t be transferred after you redeem your Xbox gift card.

    You can’t use funds in your Microsoft account to purchase physical goods from online stores.

    Gift card with dollars on European account

    Gift cards can only be used in the region they are made for. So the card might redeem, but it will still show as dollars, not Euros and you would only be able to make a purchase if you change the region of your account.

    Hi if you purchase through in game currency or credit card then you can make a refund request but you redeem the code so now nothing happens you can't move purchase from one account to other

    My son received $50 in Xbox gift cards and we redeemed them and they are showing up in our account but they are grayed out via the console. When we go to purchase a game, the MS card balance doesn't show as payment option. Any ideas what the issue might

    Refunding physical Xbox gift card.

    Once you redeem the code, you can't refund the card. When you make a purchase, there should be an option to change your payment method and you'll need to choose your Microsoft account balance.
