    I could help you with the red rings and what it means:

    4 red rings: AV cable not put in properly, plug in properly

    3 red rings: General Hardware Error, cool down for 1 hour

    2 red rings: Over heated, cool down 1 hour

    1 red ring: System encountered hardware error, send repair

    That is all I know and and correct me if I am wrong.

    Same here, I had no video with no red lights but sound. So i tryed all the tricks remove hard drive,this and that even finally went on you tube, no luck nothing garbage..Now i have one red light flashing and no sound or video.Sucks i bought this brand new
    when it first came out and to have gone throught 3 coffins and be sent old refurbished units that were going ot fail in a matter of time is just BS and if i didnt have so much money allready into xbox i would just blow this stupid thing up..I have the wireless
    adapter,Racing wheel,HD Dvd player,HD movies,Games,extra controllers and what would i get for it not a dam thing..I think ms should take all my old crap and give me a refund
