Red Ring of Death: Any Help???

I have an Xbox 360 S console that developed a red ring the other day. Its a solid red ring with no flashing sectors. It powers up green for a few seconds and then immediately turns red. There is no error message present because the 360 does not provide any
visuals.

I have tried another power cord and that has not fixed the problem. I also pulled the hard drive out and plugged it back in because another forum suggested that as an option. I'm not too technically inclined so I'd rather not rip the system apart and try
to fix it myself. I am well aware that the warranty has expired so I am curious if anyone has any suggestions to fix the system or if they have encountered this problem before.

RRoD - Own Repair Gone Wrong?

I would only let Microsoft repair the console. you also get an extended warranty when Microsoft fixes it. Here is also a red ring of death troubleshooting guide.

Sorry to hear it. The RRoD, or Red Ring of Death, is a hardware issue and means that you must either send the console in for a repair or purchase a new one.

Attempting a self repair is not allowed. Not only is there the chance that you may do more harm than good but there is also the possibility of having the console permanently banned from the Live service if caught.
