    Red light Xbox 360 S Power Supply


    Well, I've been just wondering after a few hours searching for some easy solution but I couldn't find it.

    I've been playing Ace Combat 6 and after 30 minutes (or less) my console power has been cut off. Ok, i tought it would be a temperature issue (as I still think it is), since it is happening a lot of times on the same day after some time playing (Console
    lost warranty 5 days ago! NICEEE).

    So, the point is: When I try to turn on the console, it's central green light comes up (I think it's a good signal), the power supply green light comes up (Also a good signal) and right after a half second both shutdown! The coolers be like (turn-on, oh
    no no no, turn off). Got the console 9 months ago (not even 12 months) on march.

    I was going to buy a new one to my little brother, since I'm not living with him anymore, but I am really thinking about buying something else ¬¬, Since I'll need to spend over R$200 to buy a new Power Supply and the whole console can be bought with R$800.

    I'll work in a few hours and I'll maybe buy a generic power supply just to test it. There is any chance of getting any help here until that?

    Power light turns solid red

    Is the red light on the power supply or the XBox 360 S console? If the red light is on the power supply it is a good assumption something might be wrong with the power supply. If replacing the power supply does not work I am sure you could sell the new
    power supply to get your money back. It is certainly a cheaper option than buying a new 360.

    I would recommend against getting a generic power supply as that may harm the system. You can order an official power supply for the console from the link below.

    My supply worked fine for a while,then would red light. I just took it apart and cleaned the fan and filters. Works like new and haven't had any probs since cleaning. If the warrenty is up...save some money and just clean it.

    Glad to hear that the issue has been sorted. Keep in mind, discussion of self-repair is not allowed here in the Support Forums. We also do not recommend any sort of self-repair. Self-repair will void the warranty for your console. Thanks for understanding!

    Is the red light on the power supply or the XBox 360 S console? If the red light is on the power supply it is a good assumption something might be wrong with the power supply. If replacing the power supply does not work I am sure you could sell the new

    The light on the power supply activity doesn't indicate there is a problem with the power supply. (Only a red light or no light is an indication of a power supply issue)

    What does the light(s) on the console show when trying to power it on?

    On the console, is it blinking or solid red light? A blinking red light on the power button means that your console doesn’t have enough ventilation. The red light will continue to blink until the console cools down. If solid red around the power button,
    it is possible that you will need to replace the console.
