Red light only on new games???

Hi,

My xbox was working fine for ages then my son's new game wouldn't load due to a red light flashing, no error code on screen either. I just tried a new game I bought today and it did the same thing, any ideas?

All my old games work fine

How old is the console? And also 1 red light wil display and an on screen msg will appear. 2 red lights means the console is overheating. 3 red light is a hardware error and 4 red light only exist on the really old consoles (manufatured in late 2005 and
2006) 4 red light is av cable not detected

 

Three red lights, new power supply, now what?

Got three red lights and the orange light on the pwer supply. Went through the on line steps and bought a new power supply. Plugged it in and still the same three red lights on the box and the orange light on the new power supply. Now what?

As well, which console are you using?

 

If I could add to the troubleshooting. Does the same game work on a different console?

It's an XBOX 360 Pro, and old style one with HDMI, The games work on other consoles and there's one red light flashing. I have the xobox upright and it's the bottom right light that flashes

 

1) Does the red light only appear on that particular game?

2) When you check the Xbox power cord, what color is the light?

 

Forgot to add: One flashing red light in the 4th quadrant indicates a hardware failure. It's odd there was no error code, as usually with one light there is. Is the screen black, or is it static? Try disconnecting and reconnecting power cords.
