Red Faction Guerrilla, game downloaded in wrong language and i cannot change it!

so i just downloaded newest games with gold game red faction guerrilla and the
game language is FRENCH and you CANNOT CHANGE IT!!!

i live in austria (german language), my console is set to english and i want to play all games in english! now i would be angry if the game was german but at least i would kinda understand, but french? thats just baffling to me.

thats the first time i couldn't play a game in english on my xbox. all translations are nothing but cripples of the original so i get really angry about stuff like this, the game is unplayable even in german for me,
it has to be english!

i would like to play this game, fix this asap!

Red Faction: Guerrilla in SPANISH instead of ENGLISH

I have an ITALIAN account and my console is set to ENGLISH. I downloaded Red Faction: Guerrilla and the game turned out to be in SPANISH!!!

I would like to play it in ENGLISH. Any clues? Thanks!

Don't really know how to help you, but i just wanted to add that a similar issue happens to me in Italy. I have my "Italy" Locale setting but i usually keep "English" as Language setting and i'm able to play games in English.

With RedFaction this is not the case, the downloaded game comes (depending on my Locale, i presume) with Italian and Spanish languages only and, detecting an English dashboard, the game defaults to the spanish version.

So, i'm forced to set the Language to Italian and to play in Italian... it's my mothertongue so no big deal, but it annoys me having to change language setting when i change game and anyway i'd like to be able to play the "original" english version... dubbing
is not great here imho.

The original language your content is in isn't English FYI

The original language and only languages available to you, in your region would be the nationally supported ones

The only way to get English games in an non English region would be to import it

This I'd the way alll marketplaces work

What is allowed in Australia or Austria wouldn't be allowrd in UK or us for example

Licensing and distribution rights and international laws control what content you have access to

FYI you can't use a foreign account because most triple a titles are region locked

 

Eu and Asian laws are veery strict on content distribution rights control music and voice acting etc per region

Its how the industry and your country works

 

thanks for the answers, i understand i might have to live with playing the game in german.

but still since all my other games are playable in english (i bought them all here in austria) i don't really understand the problem why i can't have the option to play this one in english too? laws? i don't think so, i guess MS or the gamedevs were just
too lazy to include that option

and my game is still in french even after redownloading, pls MS give me at least the german version so i can read the text

 

Same problem here, the game is in spanish!! [Mod removed]!! I don't understand what they are saying is chinese to me. Anybody help US!

 

Same problem in Belgium, it seems that MS has decided that everyone in Belgium speaks French. And it has been a problem for years on end, MS doesn't seem to care ... . I know that it may not be possible to translate every game in every language, but is it
realy so hard to fix it so that people can choose between the languages that are available. for example in Belgium when it says available in French and English ( while most of the people here speak Dutch !!! ) let people choose for themselves if they want
english or French. I for one like my games in origional English and not in badly translated French. MS have dropped the ball on this one in a major way, and it seems like they have no interest in fixing this.

 

Actually Belgium region both supports dutch and French which isn't your problem

I don't think you guys understand the scope

What language is in the game is decided by the region and the publisher

No publisher will localize a english game for 100 people in an non English region

That wouldnot be cost effective

Importing an us copy would land them on the wrong side of the content laws and distribution rights

 

ngocphi i appreciate you trying to help but i don't think you understand;

1. in my country we only speak german, no french, still my game is in french.

2. apparently belgium only supports french in this game (according to Warlocks comment) or do you live in belgium and got a dutch version?

3. i repeat for you: all my games are playable in english, i bought them all here in austria and they are german by default. if i set my xbox dashboard to english they also switch to english. same thing with games for gold until now. the problem aren't laws,
the problem is lazy programming. if i buy a game for my pc i can choose the language i want during the installation, are you trying to tell me there are specific laws that prevent me from beeing able to choose my language in an xbox game or something? i also
never had a single problem like this on my ps3, buy a game in austria - console is set to english - game is english. its just logic to me.

 

Except games have a set language they support

Usually 5 and then from the set languages depending on your region the language is supported and localized to the local laws and distribution rights

That's what is available

If the game supports german and your region supports German on Xbox live (that's the key)

Then you will have to find the German copy on the your regional marketplace

Games don't usually have ingame menus to change the language and it is up to the publisher to decide what is available your region may support two languages but again it is up to the publisher

That's what you guys aren't understanding

 

If you import your disk based games you will have English

However if your region isn't a English supported region your Xbox live will always be on the national language

Nothing can change ingame language

However games on demand will always have a set language

This you find in the description of the game usually on the upper right corner of the game picture

Usually EN . Ita ger etc

If it is available in another language you would find it in the description

Relying on the us page won't help you as the content description would be only in your regional marketplace

 

FYI you aren't supposed to bring in other consoles into threads it just locks it up as it lead to fights

No that's not how languages work

That would lead to major lawsuits as people would download the wrong content and not understanding the games and content leading yo mispurchases

Usually if you live in another country you have to adapt to your enviroment
