Red Dead Redption 2 time Played wont update

Mines been stuck on 25hrs for nearly a week. Ive played at least 7 hours since then. Everything else is updating like the %.

Tried power cycle turning it off and removing account and adding back on. Please help

How is backward compatability going to affect developers and publishers

hoping Red Dead will be on the list because it wont play on my 360 slim

 

Hi Tom! I think this issue is rather caused by Xbox Live servers not working correctly which is why there's probably not much you can do in order to fix this yourself and instead you will have to wait. Where did you check your time played? You can do so
on your Xbox, via xbox.com or the Xbox-app for mobile/Windows 10.

 

I have seen this happen from time to time is should update soon.

 

Have you checked your Rockstar account to see if that is updating me played?

 

hmm, friends on my friends list are updating fine? would it be an issue for just random people rather than everybody?

ive checked the time played on my xbox, on my windows pc via the xbox app, and on my phone via the mobile xbox app... all not updating.

i saw in another thread that being part of the xbox insider hub could be causing it maybe?

 

yeah, rockstars social club doesn't track play time on red dead 2 unfortunately

 

Hey there. The time played shouldn't make any difference. But it is possible the update may be delayed and will you'll see the time move up soon.

 

i just played Titanfall 2 and Far Cry 5 which both updated on time played for each game.

then played Forza Motorsport 7 and that didn't update.

Red Dead hasn't updated since last friday probably longer. i just don't get why it's not updating mine but others are fine.

I'm sorry to hear that the play time is not being updated for some games, specifically RDR2.

I read over the thread and I noticed you haven't tried a
soft factory reset. This will restore the operating system, but will leave your games and apps in the hard drive. Make sure you have your login information as you will need to download your account again.

If that doesn't work, then I would suggest to re-install the games that are not updating the play time.

Being a part of the preview program can lead to unusual bugs since your Xbox will download preview updates that are tested before the release. I would also suggest to report this bug with the Xbox
Insider Hub app downloaded, open up the power menu and you'll see an option to Report a Problem.

Try that out and let us know the results!

ive just done a soft reset, played RDR2 and the time played has updated for the duration of my session (20 mins)

it is as if it has lost the 7+ hours i spent on it since last friday.

i then closed the game, started it back up again...played for another 15mins... and it didn't record that... EUGHHH!!!!

I'm sorry to hear that the play time is still not being updated. I know it's been a few days since this started happening, but as others have mentioned you should see the time update correctly soon.

If your Xbox is enrolled in the Insider Program, it could be a possibility your Xbox's system update build could be the root cause of this but that's just personal speculation. I still highly suggest to report this issue as mentioned above to let the Xbox
team know of this particular issue.

i was enrolled. but uninstalled it before resetting.

how do i report this? and who to?

If you'd like to un-enroll from the program you have to manually select your Xbox from the Xbox Insider Hub app settings and find your Xbox under "Manage Devices" and then select the box to un-enroll your Xbox. It usually takes a few days to remove your
Xbox from the program. Uninstalling the app won't remove you from the program.

To report an issue you need to have the Xbox Insider Hub app installed, but you don't need to be enrolled to report a problem. Once you have the app installed again, hold down the Xbox button on your controller to bring up the power menu and you should see
"Report a Problem", then just follow the on-screen instructions. Reporting problems on your Xbox goes to the Xbox Insider team and the overall engineering team for Xbox. Basically, it's reported to those responsible for fixing issues encountered on Xbox. Here
