Red Dead Redemption - unable to download Xbox Live profile

Hi guys, I know there are a few other posts about this, but I didn´t want to take over someones thread...

So here´s my problem: I bought Red Dead Redemption two days ago through the Store, downloaded and installed it. It runs on my Xbox One, but after the start screen it warns me that I´m not logged in to Xbox Live and therefore can´t save the game, which kind
of makes it useless. When I trry to download the Xbox 360 profileit tells me my internet connection wouldn´t work and sends me to the Xbox One connection section, but the Xbox One of course has working internet access...

So I tried several things, I reinstalled it, I emptied local 360 profiles through the "manage storage" section, I even configured my XboxOne as Exposed Host through my FritzBox although I´m not sure this is a secure thing to do, but nothing works. I don´t
own a Xbox 360 nor did I ever log in to such a console, so I can´t do anything on that side.

Did anyone have the same problem and solved it? Would be great to get a few new ideas to try, what really gets me angry is that Microsoft is actively promoting backwards compatibility when there still are tons of reported problems...

Why is my xbox download stop at 79%?

I have exactly the same problem. I'm from Poland but right now i'm in Sweden and i'm unable to download Red Dead Redemption, it also stops at 79% without any error message.

Let's go ahead and try these steps to clear the Xbox 360 cache and see if it helps out.

1. Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.
   
   Note: Double-tapping the Xbox button will open the guide from any other screen on the console.
   
2. Select Settings.
3. Select All settings.
4. Select System and then select Storage.
   
5. Select Clear local Xbox 360 storage.
   
6. Select Yes and restart the console. This will not affect your cloud saved games or Xbox One games and profiles.

Hi there, thanks for your suggestion, tried this already but didn´t help. Btw: Seems like this is a general problem on my Xbox One as Just Cause 2 has the same issue. Really don´t know what else to try as i think I tried whatever solutions I found on the
internet...but there HAS to be a solution, right?

Its really annoying as I ditched my PC once to get rid of all the configuration issues...

Are you encountering any specific error code during this process? If so, could you provide it to us please? In addition, if you have Two-Step Verification enabled on your Xbox Live account please temporarily try to Turn
Off Two-Step Verification to see if that has any effect.

Hi I bought red dead redemption today and when I go to download it, it says this game is not playable here what can I do to fix this

Hi Miss Bijoux, thanks for your suggestions, but no, there´s no error code and no, I´m not using 2FA. I noticed the same problem occurs with Just Cause 2 - same as with RDR, the game starts and can be played, but emulated Xbox 360 can´t connect to Xbox Live.

I think I tried everything besides turning off IPv6 (but I DID turn off this Toredo-thing...), which I can´t because I can´t just tell my provider to use IPv4 instead. I really don´t get all this IPv6 problems, IPv6 is not going away, so somehow Microsoft
and Game devs have to deal with it...

So as it seems there´s no viable solution I´ll probably try and get my money back, this is so ridiculous from Microsoft to promote backwards compatibility...

Thanks, exaltedgong! Sorry to see you're still having issues. It could very well be because of IPv6. Do you have a physical Xbox 360 still on your network? There's a chance that it might just be a NAT issue causing this error.

If not, you should be able to contact your ISP and let them know that you would like to switch to IPv4. While they might tell you it's not possible, it doesn't hurt to try first.

Let us know if that works, if you've got multiple consoles, or if you're just going to go the refund route.

 

I actually owned and played the game of my 360 but unable to download it to the xbox one. I can provide screen shots from my 360..

im having the same issue as both of them. i cant load gow 3 or rdr. i tried the steps above but it doesnt help. btw yes the guy before me is having the same problem. i couldnt get online on back compat so i redownlowded the profile and couldnt. after i tried
loadin it back up and it kept crashin. i logged in on my 360 jus fine tho so it has to do wit the back compat feature.

 

I'm having the exact same problem man. You described it to a T. Did anyone figure out how to fix this? It just won't download my xbox live profile there for not letting me save any game progress.
