    just bought red dead redemption goty for xbox1 and 360. When loading either of the discs I just get an error stating the game isn't compatible on this platform please see xbox.com/backcompat for full list. The game is on the list so don't understand why
    it won't load. The platform I'm trying to load on is Xbox 1s, is this a problem

    Hi there,

    please double check if your Xbox One console is fully updated (and connected to Xbox Live) since this is a requirement to install a Backward compatible game.

    When using a disc the backward compatible game will still be downloaded from Xbox Live, since that is the backward compatible version (it will require the play disc to be inserted in order to play the game)

    Since you mentioned discs, please be sure to insert the correct one (when console is connected and is updated). that usually should trigger installation.

    thanks for the reply, he's currently not connected as we're on holiday and we've brought the x box with us. I was under the impression that connection wasn't needed to load the game from disc but must be wrong, the instructions on the box don't say anything
    about needing Xbox live other than for the multiplayer. Will try when we get home next week and let you know, thank you
