Red Dead Redemption Disc Not Recognized

Every time I put Red Dead into into my Xbox 1 it says "This Game isn't playable here". It also gives me a code (0x8082000c). The game still works on my old 360 and the disc looks to be in very good shape. It just won't install. Anyone have any
ideas to help?

What Should I get

Just get Red Dead Redemption and the Undead Nightmare disc with all the DLC! EPIC game!

 

I do know that Red Dead Redemption has just been recently added to the backcompat list.

If you're having trouble getting it to install right now, try restarting your console. It probably just needs to be "refreshed" so it'll be able to recognize RDR.

I've got the same issue. my error is (0x808200002). I've deleted the blu ray player app, saw on line that worked for someone with this error code and I've rest the system a couple of times and it still won't read the disc.

This error is usually caused by the disc not being readable by the console. Since the Xbox One uses a different type of Disc reader than the Xbox 360, it can be a bit more sensitive to scratches and smudges. You can clean you disc with these steps. Care
for your console and disc games.

You might also want to try to power cycle your console, there may be an update that needs to happen before you can install the game.

the disc is in very good condition. I've tried a power cycle a couple of times, thinking I missed an update. but that doesn't seem to help. still getting the same error.

Sorry to hear the power cycle didn't help. Are you able to play the disc on an Xbox 360 console? Are you seeing the problem with other game discs as well? Would you be able to try the disc in another Xbox One console to see if the same error occurs?

 

It will load fine on my 360. no other issues with other discs with my One.

not able to try another One console at this time.

Since that's the only disc that's not working it sounds like it might have some fingerprints or a scratch or something that's causing an issue for the console. Try to clean the disc with

these steps and let us know if it helps.
