Red Dead Redemption 2 crashes after about 30 minutes

Red dead redemption has been trouble from the start. It used to crash only after 5 or 6 hours, but now crashes after only 30 minutes. No other games crash, and my xbox one s is brand new. Ive tried everything i could think of, I’ve cleared the cache, I’ve
cleared the persistent storage, I’ve factory reset the damn console, I’ve uninstalled the game data and save data and then reinstalled them, and the game still crashes. I know for a fact the console is not overheating or too dusty, and it has barely moved
from the spot it is the whole time I have had it. I love this game and just want it to work. I just reached chapter 4, and really want to play. Any help is appreciated.

Hi. Sorry you are having issues. I assume this is a digital copy of the game? Firstly I would recommend completing this Game Issues troubleshooter
all the way through. If this doesnt help please feel free to come back to us.

 

You have to have a problem in the console, try the power cycle. Because no one has such a problem with the game.

Thanks for reaching out! It seems you have gone through a bit of troubleshooting thus far and seem to still have the same issue. Since you have already factory reset the console (I am assuming you did the version that allowed you to keep your games and apps.),
I would recommend uninstalling the game itself, rebooting the console and then reinstalling the game.

Please be sure to allow it to fully install prior to game play, even if it allows you to launch the game once it gets a bit installed. Once it fully installs and updates, then you can go ahead and give it a try. When your game continues to crash
as it has, it is more than likely some corruption in the installation itself that is causing the issue. If you continue to have the same issue, then I would recommend following our wizard on the support pages relating to

game freeze as that is really helpful.

As Amber has said to uninstall the game completely, clear system cache, and do a reset on system and also try your modem. I personally have had issues with RDR2 as it is very glitchy. Im really hoping this works for you as i know i love this game too and
maybe once it goes live we will run into each in the wilderness.

 

Never heard nobody woth this problem but did you tried to delete your account from the xbox and log back in again!!??

So I decided to try on my original model Xbox one, and it seems to be fine now. I appreciate all your help, and quick feedback.

I’ve had the same problem except I can’t play at all. I load in and as soon as I move the L analog stick it freezes and quits out. I am also in chapter 4 and have almost 60% completed. I called rockstar and they are aware of the issue but as of now have
no fix. I was told its a one s and one x issue only. You can’t even start a new game now either it also freezes. This is so frustrating and now I can’t play at all. This should never be an issue when you pay for something. I’m thinking about asking for a refund
and never playing it again.
