    Red dead 2 uninstalled itself


    Went to load rdr2 up no more than 10 mins ago. Asked me to update the game to play it so I pressed ok, then it just decided to reinstall it's self and reinstall the full 84g plus the update. Any one eles had this?

    I checked this for my and my brothers account and that is the result. Looks a little bit strange or? On My Account the Ultimate Edition is listed twice. I think this is not correct and on my brothers account ultimate edition is missing. Pre-Order Bonus is
    correct, because i have it bought and my brother not.

    Hi there,

    Make sure you haven't moved the game to an external hard drive or something. If you don't own one, and the game just uninstalls by itself, then I don't think there's a way to get it back without re-install it again. Sorry

    Hi Shehates,

    I'm sorry to hear that happened. I've experienced this before where my game needs an updated and it uninstalled (mine was Fortnite) and I couldn't really figure out what caused that to happened. I do know that currently Rockstar does have an issue going
    on with Red Dead Redemption, but they don't have any information about this affecting the game to uninstall itself after the update..

    Hello, I think there may have been a problem during the last update, if you cancel a playing bet instead of pausing it, you uninstall the game. I think it may come from there.

    I moved your post into a new thread so that we could tailor our support specifically to you! I'm sorry to hear that
    the game uninstalled itself after trying to update Red Dead Redemption 2. Currently Rockstar does have an issue going on with Red Dead Redemption, but they don't have any information about this affecting the game to uninstall itself after the update.

    I would recommend reporting this situation to

    Rockstar support    . This will allow them to have compile data regarding this issue and figuring out a patch for the game. It could already be in the works but this would still be beneficial.

    Hi there,

    regarding the save games, if your console is connected to Xbox Live, then in a normal situation the save games are also synchronized with Xbox Live, which should usually result in the save games being downloaded when you start and play the game.

    So, I assume it's best to wait until the game has fully installed and see what happens when you try and start the game.
