Red Dead 2 issue playing the game

I had purchased red dead redemption 2 ultimate edition digitally. When I opened yesterday it showed this error "do you own this game or app 0x82d40006". I've tried all solutions in Xbox assist and online to no avail. Waited till today to try again, no luck. Tried all solutions again but dint work. Finally tried step 9: Uninstall, reboot and reinstall..Uninstall'd the game and restarted the console, now the game is no longer showing and when I search in the store it's asking to purchase again!

Red Dead Redemption 2: Story Mode is just an add-on for Red Dead Online. Red Dead Online is required in order to play Story Mode. Since RDO was removed from Game Pass, you would need to purchase Red Dead Online in order to keep playing the add-on for that game.

Just a friendly reminder though that the Red Dead Redemption 2: Story Mode is just an add-on or DLC addition to Red Dead Redemption 2 which means that it requires the base game, you will be needing to buy the base game that is sold separately.

It's not the base game that is needed. It is Red Dead Online. When you state that the base game is needed it sounds like people need to buy Red Dead Redemption 2 but that is not the case. Red Dead Redemption 2 contains both the single player story and the online portion. Red Dead Redemption 2 is not the same as Red Dead Online. They have 2 different names. Story Mode is DLC for Red Dead Online. It is not DLC for Red Dead Redemption 2 as you have said.

Are you sure that you purchased the full Red Dead Redemption 2 and not just the Red Dead Redemption 2: Story Mode. If you purchased the Story Mode, then you need to own Red Dead Online in order to play it. Story Mode is just DLC for Red Dead Online and cannot be played or installed without Red Dead Online.

Red Dead Redemtion 2: Story Mode is just an add-on for Red Dead Online. It requires Red Dead Online to play. Since it was removed from Game Pass, you would have to purchase RDO in order to keep playing Story Mode.

What you purchased was a bundle with just the Story Mode add-on plus the bonus goodies from the Ultimate Edition. It is not the complete game.

It's pretty clearly stated on the website.
