Recovering Old Account

For context, I had a 360 years ago where I created an account for my wife. I recently got an Xbox One and wanted to add her account to the system.

The problem is, the email address that we tied to her account was deactivated a while ago for being dormant/inactive. I was wondering if there is a way to recover the info or recover access to the account. Can you create a new email address and have the
account transferred over?

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Call 1-800 4MY-XBOX they will assist you the best they can to resolve the issue and get it recovered

Try contacting phone support. If you can provide the gamertag, they can look it up. You have to, of course, prove it is your account by passing security questions. If you can verify, they can provide the email and help you try and reset the password.

 

What email service was the account on? I had a hotmail account be deactivated but was able to create a new account with the same name as the old one had been removed from the system.

Otherwise you will need to phone up support on 0800 587 1102 with as many of the details for the account that you do have and see if they can move it to a new email address.

 

It was a Hotmail account - I did not try to re-create the account - will give this a shot later.
