    Recover xbox gamertag


    I had to factory reset my daughter's xbox because it was stuck on the troubleshoot screen. When it came back up everything had been erased, so first I re-added my account to it and it loaded my gamertag. When I tried to load her account by typing in her
    email address, it wanted her to create a new gamertag. Even going to my laptop and logging in with her email address didn't pull up her gamertag, it created a new one with an auto-assigned name. However, her gamertag does still exist because she's on my gamertag's
    friends list. How do I recover her gamertag and get it associated with her email address again?

    I have multiple Xbox's in my house, and use a USB stick to move my gamertag between consoles all the time. It works brilliantly.



    It's quicker than recovering the gamertag. You can play straight away rather than waiting for it to recover.



    It's safer than recovering the gamertag. Your gamertag will always be with you, rather than someone else's Xbox, who thinks it would be "funny" to change your Avatar colour to blue.



    It's more reliable than recovering the gamertag. If there is a connection problem when recovering the gamertag, you can corrupt the gamertag.

    Delete the Gamertag from the Xbox 360 Console. Only delete the Gamertag. Recover the Gamertag. You will need the Windows Live ID and Password to Recover that account.

    I've recovered my gamertag but I still need the xbox Live Passcode in order to change it. Is there a way to remove or reset the xbox Live Passcode after recovering the gamertag?

    Will deleting the profile only and recovering the gamertag allow me to change/remove the xbox Live Passcode without entering the original?

    You can recover this account. Use the "Recover Gamertag" feature on Xbox Live.
