Recover Xbox gamertag with forgotten email

I’ve searched for hours on end and all I’ve been told is that I need to call Microsoft to try and fix this, which is hard for me to do.

I’ve made quite a few gamer tags over the years I’ve played Xbox, for free trials etc, most of these I remember the emails for but only being able to link one account to an email, I had to create some email accounts to make a new gamertag. I’ve done this
for an account which I’ve then played for a while, and bought DLC packages for games. Now I’ve gone through a few Xbox consoles over the years also, and can’t remember exactly which account I bought the DLC on, I know the accounts it could be, and I can give
the name on the card and the other purchase information for the account. I just don’t remember the email address.

Any help would be really appreciated

cannot recover gamertag

i recently traded in my old console for a new one and am trying to recover my gamertag Mr Spliff. i noticed that you cannot type in the gamertag to recover it anymore and have to enter an email adress. but i've forgotten the email. is there any way i can
recover my gamertag without knowing the email, or a way to find out what the email adress is?

Only people that can help you is xbox support by contacting them through support.xbox.com/contact-us they do have a chat area that can help you if you cant call you can give them your gamer tag information and look your account up with that information they
can also search with any payment option information and look up any account that has that payment option currently actively on it (i believe only phone support can look up the info with the payment option though not chat support) when they find the information
and can verify ownership of the account then they can see what game/DLC licenses are on your account and give you the email address associated with the account also.

Please keep in mind, this is a user forum, we are not Microsoft.

The transaction ID and username cannot be used in recovery, you must use the tools provided by Microsoft.

The first idea to find your email is to directly log into your account with your phone number. You can find your username using this recovery tool: [https://account.live.com/username/recover] by inputting related data.

If this does not work, you can try to look for email receipts on alternative accounts or find accounts you made be logged into on different services.

Once you have found the new address, you can recover the account using the Account Recovery Form: https://account.live.com/acsr]

Make sure to complete it in an area you would usually access your account from. It is important to be consistent with this form, you can complete the form twice a day everyday until your regain access to your account. Repeating this will increase your odds of recovery.
