Recover some lost game saves

Hi,

Playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey on XBOX one.

Game froze on me. After about a minute it glitched out to the home screen and the disc ejected by itself. I pushed it back in and loaded and after a couple minutes it said it took too long to load. I recycled my xbox one. The game loaded fine this time
- I selected continue and it loaded an old save. I went to the menu and when to "Load" to view my saved games and they are all old.

I here that games save automatically to the cloud, but not sure how to access this data? I don't even see this game on my XBOX account on my PC (should i?) I do see it in the achievements section.

Also, when are games saved to the cloud automatically? Every time a save happens, or do you have to actually exit out of the game? I did have the game running for about 3 days straight without exiting. If It only saves to the cloud on exit, I'll be more
purposeful about exiting out of the game.

It looks like this happens all the time by searching these forums - it would be nice to have a better way to manage and view this cloud storage, or maybe there is and I just don't know how?

I did check here and nothing was there. It looks like I only lost about 8 hours worth of game play so it could have been worse. So it's possible because I left my console on for a few days it never synced to the cloud? Too bad there isn't a manual sync
that I could initiate. I like leaving the console on so I don't have to start up the game again which for Assassin's Creed takes several minutes of checking for new stuff or loading the game.

After starting the game again, saved data showed up in the data management area. I guess I will make more of a point about exiting the game from now on.

Thank you for contacting the forums. You can only access you saves on the Xbox console when managing game & add-ons. I can refer you to this article on
'How do I delete saves I don't want' to see your data. Your saves usually happen when you exit out of a game or connect to Xbox Live.

I'm afraid that if you didn't keep a backup on any other device that all the save data is lost since there is no way to recover it. Some games do save certain progress online, but any local saved games are most likely lost.

Unfortunately there is no way to recover it unless she played online at some stage. Then the cloud would have her last save. If she hasn't been playing at all online then there is no way to recover the lost saved data.
