Recover Old Xbox 360 Account (Continued)

Keep in mind if the new email address is a MS server email I.E. Outlook, Hotmail, MSN, live .com emails this is not possible.

It will not allow you to add one of these types of emails to a MS account as a sign in email. and if you want to continue to use that email DO NOT remove it from its current MS account.

Back in April I made a post saying that I wish to recover my Xbox 360 account, however this isn't possible.

- I know my old Xbox account's email... there's just one problem.

- Yahoo deactivates inactive email accounts after 12 months of inactivity and I haven't logged into it since 2012...

With this in mind, I cannot log into my old Microsoft account from my childhood nostalgia days and it has a gamertag that I consider very important to my online identity.

So which means that trying to log into my old Xbox account is practically impossible and it is now a permanently blacked out account. With this in mind, is it possible that an employee can manually switch out the old account's email with one that I use actively
or is the account permanently blacked out?

I already tried all options suggested in the previous thread I made but due to the Yahoo email being permanently deactivated and removed from the yahoo servers, I cannot do any of the suggested actions.

Please help.

Be aware that your Microsoft Account email (even if it is a Yahoo Address), is just a string of characters resembling your Yahoo Address.

So even if the Yahoo Address is deactivated, as long as you know the password for your Microsoft Account, you can sign into your Microsoft Account.

The only connection between your Microsoft Account and the Yahoo email is that it looks like a Yahoo email. If it's possible, you can simply create the same email new on Yahoo, and use that to send recovery emails to that address.

Also, if you have set up multiple addresses or added your phone number as security info, Microsoft could send you password recovery mails or codes to these addresses or phone numbers. So you might not need the Yahoo address.

As soon as you have gotten access to your account again, simply change your primary sign in email to a different up to date email.

Just so I understand you correctly.

You know the email for the account.

Do you know the password for the account I DO NOT want to know what it is but if you do know the password it may be possible to get back into this account but may take up to 30 days.

If you know the email and password for the account I am assuming when you are trying to sign into the account it wants to verify ownership of your account by sending a verification code to your old email which is set as what MS calls your security proof
which is where verification codes are sent to, to verify ownership of accounts and since you do not have access to that email anymore your not able to verify ownership of your account.

Again assuming you know the email and password for the MS side of things you can change the security proof on accounts with this knowledge BUT for security reasons it does take 30 days for that change to take affect once that change to the security proof
takes affect you would then be able to access your account and be able to change the email that is used to sign into your account with if you want to.

To get to the screen that allows you to make the change to your security proof you would need to sign into your account at account.live.com/addassocid once you sign in it will prompt you to send a code to your current security proof and if you click on the
link that says that you do not have access to any of these it will walk you through changing the current security proof to something different but again this change will not take affect for 30 days. Once this process is started there is no bypassing the 30
day waiting period unless you gain access back to the current security proof and after the 30 days the new security proof will take affect and you would then be able to sign into your account and use the new security proof.

Security proofs can either be email addresses or phone numbers that can receive text messages.
