    ive been trying to recover my old xbox live account and I cannot seem to remember my password I know my original xbox live gamertag and I did set up a two step verification process problem is the other email that I used back in 2008 has been closed or It
    cannot be found. I would really like to recover my old account because it was my very first one.. any suggestions would help also I have talked to Microsoft and they said they couldn't help me because I cant remember my password which I think is BS. Again
    any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!

    So, how many of you are 10 year Xbox Live gamers?

    I started with the xboxlive beta with the headset and MotoGP disk, but I currently have a new different gamer tag due to my associated Hotmail account going inactive, due to not logging into email, and thus preventing me from renewing the live account. I had to create a new account while I went through the steps of recovery for the Hotmail address. Once recovered, I simply stayed with my new gamer tag... Now associated with the old Hotmail account. :-(

    With two step verification turned on there is nothing anyone even xbox support can help you with.

    Have you tried reopening that old email account?

    Like for instance if it was a gmail account seeing if you could just create a new gmail account with that same username?

    I have the name of the card holder when I first made the account and a couple of e-mails saying the credit card is expired.

    If it was a strictly offline account, there would not be a way to recover it without converting it to a Live account first. You would need to do so from a 360 console while you're using that profile.

    Are you recovering your old account with the correct email and password, because if you are then it would have recovered that account, I advise you to try remember your associated windows live ID with that account and then try to recover it with the correct
    windows live ID, it should recover your account if you are using the correct ID for the account.
