Recover old gamertag.

I recently did a factory reset on my xbox1. When I try to use my gamertag is says already in use. It's set to an old gamertag. How do I recover my current gamertag?

Okay so, here is my problem.

(The Gamertag was created on an xbox 360)

I have an old gamertag which was linked to a very old email account, which unfortunately no longer exist. So it is impossible to access or recover.

I knew everything about the no-longer existing account username password and gamertag associated with it. I've tried to recover it but when entered the address i get the message "This account doesn't exist". (or something like that) soooo....

So my thinking was I would re-create the email account that was deleted and be able to access the old gamertag. This didn't work. When i did this it just made a new Live ID.





Now i'm thinking if the gamertag isn't registered to the once deleted account what is it registered to? and if possible how can i get it back?

I really want to play with the gamertag again with all its saved data and information unlocked achievements and friends.

I no longer have the original xbox 360 that it was created on. Though i do have a 360 and an xbox one.

Any help or information is appreciated.

You do not need to create a new account. Just login with your Microsoft email

 

My brother in law set up a profile named . My son made a profile named levass4. We did a factory reset and is on the console. We want levass4 back but it says it's already
in use. How do we recover that profile? When I delete Whirlwind and sign back in, it keeps logging in to Whirlwind. We want levass4 back.

 

You can recover your other account using the login credentials for that account.

We only use *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. *** for microsoft. When we log in, Whirlwind is there. Not levasse4. Can you delete Whirlwind and add levass4. It says levass4 is already in use when we try to add it.

 

So you have the levass4 account on your Xbox? If so the only thing I can think of is that the Whirlwind account is assigned/linked to that controller or set to auto login upon starting. You simply need to disable Whirlwind from auto logging in or remove
it from being assigned/linked to a controller.

To assign or an account to a controller, follow these steps:

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select All Settings.
4. Under Kinect & devices, select Devices & accessories.
5. Select the controller. The current account assigned to that controller is indicated.
6. To assign the controller to another account, select the account currently assigned to it.
7. Select Assign to someone.
8. Select the account that you want to assign to the controller.

In those same steps, you will see a box for "this controller signs in". If it is linked to Whirlwind simply click to get a notification to unlink it.

I tried what you said but levass4 is not one of the options to add. When I click on add new and add levass4 it says it's already in use.

Are you able to pull up my email *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. *** and delete the Whirlwind and add levass4 on our profile?

Hey,

I see that you're having trouble redownloading your profile levass4, I suggest you go to: Microsoft - Official Home Page , log in with credentials for levass4 and go here : Sign in to your Microsoft account

You'll be able to see which devices your account is logged on and you can remove the account from those devices and log in on your Xbox.
