    If you call Xbox Support by phone and you can verify the information on the account then they will be able to tell you what the live id is for your account.

    I recover my account all the time. I had an xbox in the living room and in the basement and recover it from on the the other daily (or did this summer). Never had an issue.

    Yeah I tried it with a 48 hour code and and I got a "You found a glitch in the system" error. This seems to happen a lot on this website, it's a glitchy site. It's only with this account though, so clearly it's my account. When you're account was first
    messed up, before trying to recover it, what was it? I mean mine just signed me in and said I couldn't connect to XBL, even though other accounts on my xbox could and my internet was fine. It was clearly a problem with my account. So then trying to recover
    it, it gets through the first bar of "recovering profile" then as soon as it starts "downloading profile" it says "Cannot Connect to Xbox Live" giving me the option to try again, test connection, or exit. Testing connection reveals a perfect connection, trying
    again says "Xbox Live Signup is currently Unavailable" and exiting also says it's unavailable then sends me to the dashboard. Other accounts recover fine, I can't recover it on other 360s, it's an account error. Is this what yours was like?
