Recover long lost gamertag/profile

I have replaced my 360 6 months ago after not having one for over two + years (red ring of death - flashing). I had a PS3 as well, so just played with that until it burnt out about 3 months ago. I bought another 360, but couldn't recover my profile/gamertag...so
I created another (different email account). Now I got an XBOX one.....and I would like to recover my ancient profile to that console (plus keep my other 2 profiles that are on the 360. Can this be done?

Also.....how do I sweitch my GOld account from 360 to the xbox one...or is it just the login that does that (in which case, both the 360 and the XB1 should be able to play online under the same gold account?.....simultaneously (I can play my roomate?).

I have offline profile with all my games but none on my xbl profile that i just downloaded...

This problem has solution prior you recover gamertag... now you has lost all your games and progress sorry. You had to move your profile (hard drive, memory or usb stick) and signed in, so the servers can update your games and profile. You recover the profile
with the old information, and now is updated. Sorry.

Gamertag not allowed to sign in anymore.

i am having the exact same problem, their gamertag / profile was on a memory unit, we have XBox family account and they are being asked fow Live ID user and password, even entering it it doesnt allow it to sign in, it still says it needs to logon. Tried
moving every profile back to the hard drive and nothing changed. I then deleted the profile in order to 'recover it' there is no longer recover gamertag, but recover profile... used that and it basically created a brand new one with a new gamertag no points!!

i can still see his previous gamertag in my family dashboard though, but he cant login to it

If you remember the email and password for the account, you should just be able to download the profile to the 360. If you don't remember the login details, you will need to contact support. 1-800-4my-xbox if you're in the US/Canada or
support.xbox.com/contact-us

Gold is tied to your account. So as long as you sign into the One using the same account that has gold, you will have gold on the One.

Any game saves you had are lost.

The live connection can recover your gamertag and profile info in the last state it was connected to live. Meaning if ou gained achievements offline since last connected, those are lost.

Any purchases made can be recovered.

But save files are gone. To get those back, you would need to find the lost flash drive.

You can recover your son's gamertag by selecting 'recover gamertag' from the xbox menu, just so long as you can remember his email address associated with his account and the password or the recovery information.

However, if you or someone else called Microsoft and asked for the account to be deleted then there unfortunately is no way of getting the account back as it will be lost forever.

I'm afraid you've just lost everything on the hard drive. You will have to format it in order to use it again, and when you do, everything will be wiped from it.

You can recover any gamertags from Xbox LIVE, as long as they are online profiles. Any game saves you had will be lost unless you backed them up.

If you have downloaded any content before, you can download them again for free, via the Download History.
