Recover gamertag

I was trying to recover my gamertag from my xbox 360 to put it on my xbox one but i didn't know how to do it. I created a new account with a new gamertag and i purchased a new xbox live gold card for 12 months and i found old gamertag under my old account
for xbox 360 which is an alias is there a way to merge the 2 accounts together so i won't lose the 12 membership.

Live Account over 360 and Xbox One

At the moment if you go to a mates house you can recover your gamertag on their 360, then when you get home you need to recover your gamertag back to your console (unless you use a USB Stick).

I am wondering how it will work with the xboxone? As I dont want to keep recovering my Gamertag everytime I move from my 360 to the xbox one and back again. Will it let you have your account on both machines at the sametime?

@prince: If you don't know the WLID, you cannot recover the account. You can try calling phone support (support.xbox.com/contact-us) to see if they can assist you further.

@death: First, you cannot be hacked. Second, having your account compromised is not the same as forgetting your WLID. Third, contact phone support (support.xbox.com/contact-us) to start an Unauthorized

Sorry but no,there is no way to merge two accounts/profiles.

As you are on the xbox one you can use the gold sharing feature though
support.xbox.com/.../xbox-live-gold-sharing-features

so you wont lose the 12 months gold.

Depending on how long since you got gold you could contact support & they may credit you for the remaining live time to move to your other account.

I have multiple Xbox's in my house, and use a USB stick to move my gamertag between consoles all the time. It works brilliantly.

It's quicker than recovering the gamertag. You can play straight away rather than waiting for it to recover.

It's safer than recovering the gamertag. Your gamertag will always be with you, rather than someone else's Xbox, who thinks it would be "funny" to change your Avatar colour to blue.

It's more reliable than recovering the gamertag. If there is a connection problem when recovering the gamertag, you can corrupt the gamertag.

Delete the Gamertag from the Xbox 360 Console. Only delete the Gamertag. Recover the Gamertag. You will need the Windows Live ID and Password to Recover that account.

Have you attempted resetting your password through your email? There should be a hyperlink beneath the sign-in page. From there, it will ask you some of the personal questions that you listed when you created your account, then send a reset link to your
email.

If you don't have access to your email, then you may not be able to get the account back, unless you are lucky enough to go through an xbox official.
