So, to clarify, I CAN record and have the video put onto the external device. The problem is, that, when I attempt to record when using the external device, it won't allow me to record longer than how long the internal device can record. It's recorded longer before, but now it won't record for longer than 5 minutes. This error happened on my Xbox Series S Disk-Free console. If anyone has had the same problem or found a solution, I would appreciate it if you told me so that Microsoft can see this post. Thank you.

Are you wanting to record shows from the TV, or gameplay?

If it's gameplay, you would need an external video capture device and software to record the gameplay.

If it's TV programs, no. Live TV cannot be recorded from an Xbox One.

right, the external devices are going to give you greater freedom to record and edit clips on your PC. The original HD PVR though only accepts component so you will need converters. the HD PVR 2 will hook in seamlessly.

You currently can't record more than 30 seconds at a time.

To record more you need an external capture device like Elgato offer but Microsoft is bringing more options over the coming months.
