Recording your and your friend's voices on XBOX one consoles

It all comes down to the user at the end of the day. If im going to record voice in a private party i always let people knowe that i am and that i will edit out anything that is deemed a private conversation amongst friends. The law is there to weed out
the abusers and bullies. Back on the 360 i recorded plenty of gameplay with party chat and not once did a friend complain. In fact you will find most of the time they enjoy watching it back and hearing all the banter and laughter again. If your friends are
going to upload sensitive info than by all means seek a legal avenue but i would also suggest some better friends.

Well I'd think there wouldn't be an issue in public chats because it's just that, you should always watch what you say in a public forum like that anyway, you don't go into the middle of the mall and scream your darkest secrets and then get angry about your
privacy being breached because people heard.

I tend to agree with Rand on the private party chats though, if you recorded a private conversation and uploaded to YouTube for lulz and they were subjected to bullying and harassment I think you might get in trouble regardless of your intentions.

ps there are actually a lot of YouTube videos of people trolling in the public chats on say Call of Duty and I have not heard of one person getting in trouble for that, unless someone has a source? Might be an interesting read.

OK I'm back again. When I first got my Hauppauge at the start of last year, I use to have issues recording my commentary with it. That's because you need to hook up my PVR to my PC using the long extension USB cable included with the PVR. A way around this
was to make sure that every time I wanted to record my voice, to make sure that I restarted the software on my PC which came with my PVR, which is Hauppauge Capture. Sometimes when I play on Xbox 360, game chat especially in COD BO2 zombies lobbies, is very
very quiet. But when you're in an Xbox Live Party with friends, and playing other games in game chat mode, my PVR picks that up fine. I tried doing my first 2 minecraft multiplayer videos with a group of friends, I felt like punching my PVR and computer. I
said to them it's recording my commentary, nope it now isn't. I found a way around this issue a month after I got my PVR. The PVR uses my HP Pavilion dv6's internal dual mic array as the mic for commentary. I could use an external mic but I like to keep it
simple. It would be simpler if the PVR accepted the mic I use to chat on Xbox Live, as a mic for commentary.

Socializing is a big part of Xbox 360 and Xbox 1. You can even snap Skype video chat while playing Minecraft or your favourite games, and see what your friends reaction would be. But for that, you may want to ask your friends permission if you wanted to
record that. You can't just go around recording everything lol.

Ive actually just stopped using my elagato for this very reason and havent posted to youtube for a while.

Hopefully now they figured out BC they can get the engineers on this one.

By this i mean play through both option like the 360
